camp I WANT TO SNARL // 7/1 meeting

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!" Her yowl bounces off the walls of the ravine, drawing cats of all ages from their dens. It is late into the evening, the sun already nearly hidden from view, and the camp is cast in a dark, violet glow. Today marks a grand occasion. Not only are several warriors earning their names and places within ThunderClan, but many, many kits are going to become apprentices. Most importantly to her, her deputy will be out of the nursery and able to return to her duties. Raccoonstripe has been a worthy, if not a bit hot-headed, replacement. Actually, she's been quite impressed with her son's organizational skills when it came to organizing training and patrols! But it is Flamewhisker's rightful place, and she will be happy to see the ginger tabby return to her job.

"Before the moon rises, there are several cats who we will welcome to the warrior's den tonight. They will sit silent vigil tonight under the half-moon. I invite to the front Briarpaw, Smokepaw, Darkpaw, Emberpaw...and Thundergleam." Four apprentices who have passed their assessments and trained hard for six moons, and the very cat who saved her several moons ago. It is time she joins the clan as the full warrior she has wanted to be for so long.

As the five cats gather beneath the towering boulder, she smiles fondly at them before announcing, "I, Howlingstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon StarClan to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble Code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn. Briarpaw, Smokepaw, Darkpaw, Emberpaw, Thundergleam...do you five promise to uphold the Warrior Code and to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?" She stares down at them expectantly. She has never performed a ceremony for a cat as old as Thundergleam, but from up here, she looks just the same as the four youngsters at her side, bright-eyed and eager.

Blue ears perk as his leader's voice rings throughout the camp. He cast a cautious glance towards Ravenstrike, but after seeing her nod, a smile formed on his muzzle. Finally! It was time...he was becoming a warrior at last. The tom shook out his pelt, masking his excitement as he joined the crowd. Howlingstar called him and the others to the front, speaking the traditional words he heard at every ceremony. Burning yellow eyes meet hues of green. "I do." I will protect and defend the clan, even at the cost of my life. He would make sure their borders were strong, secure. Hunting was less exciting, but he would reluctantly make sure those who couldn't hunt were fed as well.

As Howlingstar calls the clan to attention, a meeting starting, Glowingkit clings to her siblings like an apricot colored shadow - if a shadow could be larger then the cat it's attached to. Head wobbles for a moment as she stares up at her leader - wide eyed and awed, but equally as nervous. Because she's six moons old now or thereabouts - and surely, she will be getting her name soon... today, if she's heard right. No longer will she be a bother to her parents - perhaps, they'll love her more if she's not around as much, if her mother isn't confined to the nursery because of her. Right?

But far before that, other names are to be called, gaze flicking to each apprentice as they're called forwards, as well as the strange... stranger she supposes, who wasn't actually a thunderclanner but was as good as. She can't recall a time where Thundergleam wasn't there - arriving before her time. It seems reasonable to give them a proper welcome - or whatever it is, exactly, that Howlingstar must have planned.

Her name trailed behind a list of apprentices, but that was a fitting thing; they had earned their place here for much longer than she, and to be accepted as a warrior alongside them was an honour, truly. She was not hidden in the shadows, her ceremony whispered shamefully- her name was called out loud by Howlingstar instead, her mossy eyes shining with pride.

Rosy eyes met Howlingstar's, stood side by side with the other honoured cats. Her tail flicked expressively, betraying her excitement despite the composure that she let soak her like rainfall. Yes, composed... perfect. A warrior who would receive this blessing gracefully, still- and she would shine on this earth like starlight, a beacon for the heavens, their messenger. And yet the joy she felt warred against trainquility, and glimmered from her face like the sun bouncing off of water.

Even at the cost of your life. And this was her life- it always had been, from the moment she had been born. What StarClan's reasons had been for choosing a cat born outside the Clans to recieve their messages, she could not say- but from childhood she had known it, had felt that hardy heartstring plucked by the heavens, and the hymn has resonated within her. It was a song that had taken her here. Taken her home. So with pride, she said- voice soft and steady, more certain than any prophecy she had given- "I do."

Ivytwist meandered over to the call of Howlingstar with an easy pace. Her muscles sighed in relief as she stretched long and languid in the setting sun. The warrior had just finished a nice plump dove the last hunting patrol brought in. As happy as she was for the new warriors, she also prayed this would wrap up shortly so she could settle into her nest for the night. See, the dove as dinner was a strategic move. She had put aside some of its downier feathers to line her nest.

The bi-colored she-cat settled down near the middle of the crowd and nodded to the cat next to her with an small smile. As Howlingstar started the meeting, Ivytwist could feel her eyelids grow heavy as sleepiness settled in.

Finally. His day was here.

He steps up next to his brother, ignoring the urge to stick his tongue out at the mentor that had covered the last of his few moons. Paws pressed into the bottom of the ravine, orange eyes flicked up towards Howlingstar, his tail twitching in amusement. Joy, even. He was finally getting himself in a good spot- becoming a warrior. Pride spread through him as he lifted his chin and answered their leader, "I do."

[ ༻ ☼ ༺ ] This was it, they'll be apprentices, they'll be able to see the world beyond the camp, and hopefully one day make their parents proud. It was a wishful thought that Fadingkit carried as she stood with her head held high amongst her siblings, blue gaze on Howlingstar as she awaited their turn. She wondered who would be her mentor, knowing from their previous conversation it would not be the one Fadingkit desired, even if she tbought herself strange just as much as Thundergleam was but... she only hoped it would be someone good, so gaze trailed off before gently aiming to touch Glowingkit's ear in reassurance. Everything will be fine... they'llall train together too, share the same nest... nothing will change.

. ° ✦ Bravepaw had neatly placed himself alongside the other apprentices, away from those who were to be named and leave for the warriors den. Each passing meeting, as more of his denmates parted from their nests to join their senior Clanmates, Bravepaw felt his own getting closer! Soon he, Hazepaw, and Cardinalpaw would sit beside one another as they completed their silent vigil.

How long after would it be until he also received his own apprentice? Training felt so hard in the beginning, but he also didn't have the perfect start to apprenticeship like his younger siblings would. That's gonna start next moon! How had time slipped away so fast?

Never mind that right now, Bravepaw shifted as he set his focus back on the meeting going currently. Thundergleam's name is called for after the apprentices, and he watched as she stood so gracefully before the tabby.

"She's so pretty..." He murmured aloud, feeling the tips of his ears burn as he hoped no one overheard. Would Howlingstar let her keep her name, he wondered. She already had a Clan cats name oddly enough, but did their leader find it fitting under the stars?

〕The day was here. When she had heard that Howlingstar would be calling a meeting, she had spent the time up until now grooming her kit's pelts. Last night had been their final night spent together until they became warriors, and the thought unsettled her deeper than it had the first time her kits became apprentices. Tonight she wouldn't be sharing a nest with them, or anyone else. She would be returning to the warriors den...alone. But, she refused to dwell on the thought. Tonight was not about her.

Settled outside the nursery, she licked each of her kit's foreheads for a final time. "It will be your turn when Howlingstar calls you forward...until then, remember your manners and be respectful." Before they received their mentors, apprentices were earning their full names. She listened quietly as they each spoke the famous words I do. Thundergleam had also finished her apprenticeship, and was being welcomed fully into the clan. She found herself smiling in pride, glad that the Molly would now be a warrior. Even though she had been wary of her at first, she believed truly that Thundergleam held Thunderclan in her best interest. I wonder if Howlingstar will give her a new name, or if she will keep it. A cat hadn't joined before already bearing a warrior name.

a longhaired red tabby with low white and green eyes. flamewhisker's fur is a vibrant hue of red, riddled with thick classic tabby markings. her fur is medium in length, and she has a large, feathery tail. her chest, belly, tail tip, and her paws are dipped white. flamewhisker's eyes are a dark, deep shade of green. her shoulder has a large scar on it from a fight with a dog. she also has a shredded ear from a disagreement with a loner during her time alone before joining thunderclan. on particularly cold days, or sometimes before a major weather change, she will walk with a slight limp from her shoulder injury.

They each speak their vows with eagerness and determination, their young eyes shining. A pleased smile crosses her muzzle as she dips her chin, eyes shutting in acceptance of their promise. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior names. Briarpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Briarsong." For her dedication to keeping their territory secure, like a bird wards off competition with its song. "StarClan honors your intelligence and keen perception, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." She carefully makes her way down from the Highrock and strides to stand in front of the spiky-furred she-cat. A muzzle is rested upon an ebony head before she pulls away, a proud smile on her face.

She shifts to Smokepaw, who alongside his brother had been held back a moon from their ceremonies. She believes he has learned his lesson, however, after a moon more of training and chores. Now, he stands before the clan as a warrior at heart, she is sure of it. "Smokepaw, from this moment on you will be known as Smokefur." For the pluming gray pelt that cloaks him. "StarClan honors your wit and directness, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." She rests her snout between his ears, a pleased rumble in her throat.

Next, it is Smokefur's brother, Darkpaw. She rests her eyes on him with pride, seeing how far he's come just like his littermate. He has earned this. "Darkpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Darkthistle." Obviously for his sharp, chilling tongue. "StarClan honors your passion and agile paws, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." She repeats the same motion, resting her chin on his head until she feels a swift tongue swipe over her shoulder.

Next, he stands before Emberpaw, her gaze softening as she looks at the young cat. Her ceremony had been delayed a moon while she caught up skill-wise, but that doesn't diminish the pride the leader feels for him. Sunfreckle would be proud. She moves forward a step, a tiny shuffle closer before declaring, "Emberpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Emberface." Of course, for his sunny-furred face, but also for the warmth and glow his expression always bears, very much akin to the glows of a dying ember. "StarClan honors your and work ethic and gentle nature, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." Purring, she rests her muzzle on her head.

And finally, she comes to stand before the last cat, who is several seasons older than the others. "Thundergleam," She begins, chin lifting. "You joined our clan in a rather...unorthodox manner. You did not grow up here, but you trained hard to learn our ways and our Code. You already bear a warrior's name, but now you are a warrior in title, too. StarClan honors your kind heart and altruism, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." She rests her muzzle between ivory ears, almost in disbelief how the random loner who discovered her so far from these lands is now a warrior in her clan. She is glad it has turned out this way.

She steps back, a big smile stretching across her muzzle as she lifts her voice in celebration. "Briarsong! Smokefur! Darkthistle! Emberface! Thundergleam!" Cheers for the clan's newest warriors echo around her as she climbs back to her perch, and the newly named cats meld back into the crowd. Warmth fills her gaze as she switches her attention from them to the nursery, where excited, bumbling kits can hardly sit still. A gentle chuckle leaves her as she beckons them forth. "Sunkit, Squirrelkit, Scorchedkit, Bugkit, Shroudedkit, Fadingkit, Glowingkit, Dwindlingkit and Shadowedkit, step forward to receive your apprentice names." The nursery is going to enjoy the space after this meeting, she thinks! And more importantly, she will get her deputy back.

// Briarpaw is named Briarsong for her territorial tendencies.
Smokepaw is named Smokefur for his smoky gray pelt.
Darkpaw is named Darkthistle for his sharp tongue.
Emberpaw is named Emberface for her warm-colored fur and always-glowing expression.
Thundergleam is now a warrior, keeping her name for her kindness.

Him or his brother isn't first- and that's fine. Darkpaw can suffer waiting another apprentice to get their name before he or his brother could. Careful not to let a sigh slip from bored lips, his head tilted towards Smokepaw as he was called. A grin played at his lips, but as Howlingstar called his name, Darkpaw did a mental cheer. Smokefur was fitting- after all, his brother did look like smoke after a fire. Darkpaw's shoulders squared as he looked towards the leader, and stepped forward for his own name.

Ears perked as he listened. Darkthistle. Sharp, gnarly. His heart soared as he was given a strong name, that of a warrior, that of a full-blooded. Her head rests upon his, and he licks her shoulder. Darkthistle, proudly, steps aside, his chin lifted and tail snapping in excitement. He tries his best to ignore who comes next- a kittypet blooded, and idiot Thundergleam. Darkthistle shifts and sits next his brother, stretching out excited paws.

When he cheers, it's only a handful of names he chants, vision adverted. His brother's, and Briarsong's. Next, apprentices, all of which he found worthy of the chance to learn the ins-and-outs of Thunderclan's ways, settling down for a long meeting.

[ ༻ ☼ ༺ ] Soon enough the warriors recieved their names, Thundergleam keeping the one she came with while the others received new ones. That would be her and her siblings soon enough, receiving their final names in front of the whole clan, yet for now, it was their turn to become apprentices, alongside the deputy's four. Fadingkit gently and quickly nudged Glowingkit forward before looking at the other three with a gentle smile before looking up to meet theit leader's gaze. No longer will they explore beyond the nursery, they will finally see what the outside holds, and Fadingkit couldn't wait to explore and see all the new things around her. She hoped for a good mentor as well too, her blue gaze breaking from Howlingstar to scan the warrior faces trying to see if she can pick out who it would be.

⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊ It was a very long meeting as far as she was concerned, perhaps because this night was her night! She wasn't the only one; numerous cats were rejoicing under the moon. While not the most important thing in her opinion, her crimson ears clung to each new name given by Howlingstar—new warriors.

Her cheers mixed with the many others, fueling her ambition and drive. Her time will soon come when she is a warrior, despite the fact that she loathes having to wait again. Her dreams were so far in the future that she barely remembered she was going to become an apprentice tonight, like right now!

Dwindlingkit's name was called on a long list of others, she took a stride forward along with her siblings. Fadingkit's smile was contagious, and she reciprocated with a confident grin of her own. Blue eyes swiftly checked in on glowingkit, shroudedkit, and shadowedkit, her kin; her love for them was immeasurable. Tonight was their night too. And yet her patience was waning, and her scarlet tail bobbed back and forth. The sooner this is over, the sooner she can go forward and shape her bright future!

"Mooooom stop it, you're embarrassing me," she grumbled quietly as she ducked away from Flamewhisker's relentless grooming. The torbie kitten scooted herself a few tail-lengths away, out of reach of her mother's overbearing attentions, and swiveled her ears forward to listen to the rest of the meeting. This was it! Today was the day they were finally going to become apprentices! Tonight, she and her siblings would move out of the nursery and get their own nests in the apprentice den. Squirrelkit could tell that something was bothering her mother, but she couldn't understand why. This was going to be the best day ever. She was practically trembling from the excitement.

Who would Howlingstar pair her up with? She hoped it was someone cool and tough, like Burnstorm or Raccoonstripe. Or even Flamewhisker! Someone who could teach her how to fight and become the most amazing warrior that Thunderclan had ever seen. Just like her papa was in all the stories she'd heard growing up. If he was in Starclan, was he looking down on her right now? Would he be proud that they were officially becoming 'paws tonight? She hoped so. Fidgeting slightly in her seat, Squirrelkit felt like she was going to absolutely burst from the anticipation, when suddenly -

"...step forward to receive your apprentice names."

It was happening! With a last, beaming smile flashed to her mother, the little bundle of fur launched herself from her place by the nursery to where Howlingstar stood. She should be nervous, probably, but all she could feel was a desperation to begin the next chapter of her life. "Hi," she whispered up to her leader cheekily, wide eyes brimming with admiration. She felt her siblings' presence beside her, and knew that it was only a matter of moments now before they were, forevermore, no longer kits.

the smile she grants back does not meet her eyes. song. just like that wretched mother of hers, the failure of a cat she had done everything to distance herself from. hollow anger welled in her teeth as howlingstar moved to name smokefur, darkthistle, emberface, and thundergleam. they all looked happy, prideful. her tail twitched in annoyance. there was a rational part of her that knew this was not some deliberate claw to the face, that her animosity was hidden well under the guise of a growing independence. briarsong choked it down. because if that were the truth she chose to pursue, it would mean each bitterly contrarian decision she had made was all for naught. it was easier to believe howlingstar was playing her for a fool.

her tongue ran over her teeth as cheers rang through the clearing, she had to try her best not to draw blood from it. and when they were finally dismissed in favor of new apprentices, briarsong retreated to the back of the group, claws scoring the red dirt underneath as she simmered.

As Thundergleam is called forward with a pawful of apprentices, Stormywing sits in the crowd with her chest puffed out in pride. A wide grin stretches across her face as she watches the ivory she-cat step forward to claim her rank as a warrior in the clan. Despite the tabby’s initial reservations about the odd stranger, she sure did turn it around, didn’t she? Her mentee may have been unique and different than others, but ultimately even Stormywing could see the spirit of a warrior in her. Dare she say, she thinks she’s even found a friend for life in the molly.

Her voice lifts high in cheer, one of the loudest in the ravine as she enthusiastically shouts, “Briarsong! Smokefur! Darkthistle! Emberface! THUNDERGLEAM!” She is on her paws now, her chants cast to the stars above. This is her first time successfully shaping a cat into a full warrior under her tutelage, and the sense of accomplishment she feels is exhilarating. She can’t wait when it’s Fallowpaw standing up there. If Thundergleam were to look back, she’d be met with a proud, toothy grin.

She settles back down when the kits are called forward, her young cousins included. She watches them eagerly, wishing she could get the chance to mentor her own kin. But Fallowpaw needs to be her sole focus right now, she knows. So close to warriorhood, she needs to give her apprentice her all.

In truth, Thundergleam had not considered the possibility that she may give up her initial warrior name for a new one- but as Briarpaw became Briarsong, Darkpaw was dubbed Darkthistle, Smokefur succeeded Smokepaw and Emberpaw ended up as Emberface, that gleam may become something else sparked some kind of uneasiness in her heart. Oh, if that happened... Father would not be happy. Her name was given to her by him, with StarClan at his side... they guided his words.

Every worry- and even every thought regarding Father was cast aside when Howlingstar addressed her, though. As a white chin was placed on a whiter head, and for her kindness and altruism... oh! She was, at last, accepted as a true warrior of ThunderClan. The warrior she had always been destined to be. StarClan's reasons for deeming her a saviour despite her Clanless origins were shrouded in mystery... until this moment. Glowing euphoria ran golden through her veins. Surely it was for this moment... for this boundless, immense joy.

"Thank you," she whispered to the leader, and it was a challenge not to let her voice waver with emotion. "Briarsong! Smokefur! Darkthistle! Emberface!" Silken tones rose with pride, feather-soft and yet rising to join this wonderful chorus.

A tufted tail flicked with pride- she turned to draw back into the crowd. It was then that rosy eyes befell Stormywing- recognised a wide, fang-lined grin on her face that warmed Thundergleam's heart to see. A small, soft gasp slipped past her lips, and she returned her former mentor's smile with one of her own, unmistakeably sincere. It had been no secret that Stormywing had held reservations aout her- but if it became that she could smile so brightly now, then it was wonderfully worth it.

*+:。.。 Nervousness and excitement were two sides of the same stone, leaving Bugkit trembling. Although Flamewhisker had done a great job de-tangling Bugkit's monstrously thick coat, her efforts only fuzzed up the kitten's fur, making her luck twice as big as she stood beside her mom, bouncing up and down in place. Excitement! She's so excited! Pale lemon eyes flick like an impatient moth to each cat around and ahead of her. Glowingkit, Fadingkit, Dwindlingkt, and their siblings all look as eager as Bugkit to leave the nursery. Probably all fantasizing about the fun they're fated to have outside, huh! She bets she'll catch the biggest prey! Or climb the highest tree! Or defeat the scariest foe so no war will ever happen again! She giggles, looking up at her ma as her dreams dance on her tongue.

Before she could, Squirrelkit's denial of attention left Bugkit giggling. She watches her sister scoot away, before a sudden pang shot through her chest. Before she could put a name to it, she found herself pressing closer to Flamewhisker. She watches, her smile shakier than before, as each apprentice - and Thundergleam - are called forward. It's a vision of her future, she realizes. One day, it'll be her and her littermates standing again before Howlingstar - from -paw to a whole new, unique set of names. She'll have to wait a whole other six moons for that day...she hopes she'll be ready!

Shuffling her paws, she wonders if she's ready now. Lifting her gaze again, she studies her mother's smile, dignified and steady. She presses a little closer, hoping that her mom will be okay now that they can't share nests anymore. Falconheart will take care of her she thinks resolutely, nodding. But the pang returns, and she wonders who'll take care of Bugkit.

She startles, brought back to the present when everyone starts howling around her. Quickly realizing it's to congratulate the new warriors, Bugkit quickly joins in. "B-Briarsong! Smokepa-fur! Darkthisle! Embergleam! I mean - Emberface! Thundergleam!" she exclaims, bobbing her head with each name. She wonders what her future name would be. Bugsong? Bugfur? Bugthistle? Bugface? Buggleam? She giggles at the thought, shaving away some of her nerves.

Only to stiffen up once more when her name is called. She shoots one last look at her mamma, before quickly scurrying to stand beside her sister, Squirrelkit. It made Bugkit smile to see Squirrelkit so happy, so eagerly she followed suit. No matter what, she was going to be okay if she had her family still by her side! Squeezing her eyes shut, she mumbles to herself, "I hope you're watching, pappa!" In her heart of hearts, she's sure he is.
"I'm ready!" she purrs, grinning at Howlingstar with glowing light yellow eyes.

Her eyes focus on the first of Flamewhisker and Flycatcher's brood, the first of many ceremonies. "Sunkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Sunpaw. Your mentor will be Ivytwist. I hope she will pass down all she knows on to you." Her gaze finds the patched she-cat in the crowd and she gives her a reassuring smile. "Ivytwist, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have shown yourself to be a strong and independent warrior, and I expect you to pass on all you know to Sunpaw." Paired with Sunpaw's exuberant personality, she thinks they'll make an outstanding pair.

"Squirrelkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Squirrelpaw. Your mentor will be Lightflower. I hope she will pass down all she knows on to you." Maybe a bold choice to some. After all, Lightflower and her friends were the ones to abandon their posts those several moons ago. But in Howlingstar's opinion, they've made up for their past mistake. They've made themselves into wonderful warriors, and she thinks Lightflower is ready for that next step in her life. "Lightflower, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You received excellent training from Roeflame, and you have shown yourself to be caring and intuitive. You will be the mentor of Squirrelpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to her." Both of the she-cats are such bright, positive forces in the clan, she's sure they'll get along great.

She next finds Scorchedkit in the lineup, eyes fixing themselves onto tortoiseshell fur. "Scorchedkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Scorchedpaw. Your mentor will be Flamewhisker. I hope she will pass down all she knows on to you." Smiling, her gaze flicks just slightly to her deputy, a purr in her voice. "Flamewhisker, I'm sure you're as ready as ever to get back out there, and I want you to have an apprentice when you do it. I hope you pass down all of your ferocity and passion to your daughter."

After the pair touches noses, she looks to the next kit in line, a fluffy blue and cream tortoiseshell. "Bugkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Bugpaw. Your mentor will be Morningcloud. I hope she will pass down all she knows on to you." A former kittypet, yes, but one who has long earned this moment. "Morningcloud, you have shown yourself to be dutiful and compassionate, and I hope you pass down those traits to Bugpaw." She smiles in amusement; Bugpaw is very bubbly, so she may need the more clever warrior to help reign her in.

With Flamewhisker's litter apprenticed, she next moves onto the second litter, her eyes finding the little flame-pelted kit that is next in line. "Shroudedkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Shroudedpaw. Your mentor will be Mousenose. I hope she will pass down all she knows on to you." Finding the patched she-cat in the crowd, she nods to her. "Mousenose, you are ready to take on a new apprentice after successfully training Sunshinespot. You are a gifted and cheerful warrior, and I expect you to pass on all you know to Shroudedpaw." She waits for the two to touch noses before moving onto Shroudedpaw's sister.

"Fadingkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Fadingpaw. Skyclaw will be your mentor. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you." Her grandson has...butted heads with her on more than one occasion, but that doesn't make him an indecent warrior. In fact, she thinks he can help to shape up the rather odd she-kit into a very nice warrior someday! Perhaps she is a little biased...Skyclaw was her apprentice, after all. "Skyclaw, you are ready to take on another apprentice. You are a hardworking and protective warrior, and I expect you to pass on all you know to Fadingpaw."

Next, "Glowingkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Glowingpaw. Your mentor will be Lily Pad I hope she will pass down all she knows on to you." She knows it's helped Lily Pad tremendously to be able to mentor Deerpaw after Wolfwind's death. In fact, she's done so well that Howlingstar has seen it fit to grant her daughter a second apprentice. Not only a privilege, but she believes Lily Pad will do best with the gentle, softspoken apprentice. "Lily Pad, you are ready to take on another apprentice. You are a kind and patient she-cat and I expect you to pass on all you know to Glowingpaw."

Glittering eyes next find the little flame point next to her. "Dwindlingkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Dwindlingpaw. You will be mentored by Bluestride, and I hope he will guide you and pass down all he knows on to you." Dwindlingpaw in particular is probably the most independent of the bunch, so she figured one of the more task-oriented, no-nonsense warriors would work best for her. "Bluestride, you are ready to take on your first apprentice. You have shown yourself to be a motivated and driven warrior and I expect you to pass on all you know to Dwindlingpaw."

And finally...the last of the group. Her eyes settle on the ginger and cream tom, smiling. "Shadowedkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Shadowedpaw. Your mentor will be Ivytwist." A twinkle in her eye, she looks back at the warrior. To receive her first apprentice is an honor; to receive two in the same meeting is impressive. "Ivytwist, I have every bit of faith in you that you will be able to train both of your apprentices well." She hopes that Ivytwist's steadiness will help to balance out Shadowedpaw's impulsiveness.

She lifts her chin, pride in the youth obvious in her posture. "Listen well to your mentors, work hard, and honor your clan. You will all make ThunderClan proud."
