Badgerstripe saw the molly run into camp with the others. Just before she had run into Sleekserpent, just before their messy break-up; she saw a beacon of hope, of relief. And then, while she hid away in the nursery and battle roared outside, the minutes that went by felt like agony - just like they did when Tigerpaw was told to run. Just like they did when she left the Clan in the first place. She never knew if the girl would live. She never knew if she would return.

When Badgerstripe visits the medicine cat the next day, her heart is in her throat. It skips a beat, then swells with emotion, upon seeing her childhood friend beaten and battered in her nest. She looks so weak, so small.. but there is a determined flame within her that Badgerstripe knows can never be quelled. It makes her smile despite herself.

" Tigerpaw, " she breathes out, savoring each syllable as if it may never be spoken again. She never thought it would be spoken again. With tears dotting her green eyes, the queen moves over with her tail high in the air, and bumps her forehead in friendly greeting to Tigerpaw's. " How are you? " she murmurs, settling down in a half-lay position next to the torbie. For all the moons spent apart after her friend was abruptly torn away.. Badgerstripe cannot keep her eyes off her. Like she may vanish again if she closes her eyes..

" I'm so glad you're alive. I'm glad you're here. " Leafhusk kept her safe and sound.. and now, she could flourish in the ThunderClan she once knew, without the treachery that Skyclaw brought..

Tigerpaw could have probably slept for forever. The blood that dotted the scene, the acidic taste in her mouth after cleaning her paws of blood that was not hers- it's gonna be ok, it's gonna be ok, it's gonna be- the horror of the day was broken by badgerstripes words, breaking her mind free of the entrapment of feeling her claws rip through flesh. The dullness in her eyes would disappear, and green eyes would suddenly light up.

She remembered still the feeling of her nose pressing to Badgerpaws forehead, and for as long as she could, tigerpaw would harbour her scent. Cling onto the feeling that the dilute tortie was still with her and that she would not be pried away again. "Badgerstripe," the name fell from her tongue as if it was the first time ever meeting the molly. While Badger spoke as if it may be the last time, tiger would speak as if it was the first time, excitement lacing her tongue in almost panicked breaths as she drew her cheek to rub against the girls in an just as excited greeting.

If it wasn't for the medicine Gentlestorm gave her, she probably could have leaped forward- but she was a tad tired, and her wrist throbbed fiercely when weight was out on it, shooting tendrils of pain up her leg. A simple pawstep forward as she rubbed into the grey tortie reminded her, trying to hide the wince with the sudden purr that escaped from the back of her mouth.

"It-its been so long, i- im so sorry I disappeared- I hope you didn't worry too hard," she said, trying to add a teasing tone despite the slight sadness in her voice, her head dipping a little. "But leafhusk told me of your name! Oh, how proud I am of you, Badgerstripe!" She would not say the excitement she held for the warrior when told of her achievement, or the burning in her ears or face as she pressed into her soft fur again in congratulations.

"How's warrior life? Was any of it as exciting as we hoped?"
