( ♦ ) With leafbare looming, tensions were growing in the clan. Her clanmates weren't taking it out on each other of course, they were better than that, but she could tell that the coming bare season was weighing on their minds. To alleviate this, Silverstripe had come up with a plan. She would gather some gifts for her clanmates to brighten their spirits, keep them upbeat even in the face of the coming leafbare.
Besides, with the chill setting only so much of the day could be spent hunting before all the prey hid away in their dens. She needed something else to do.
Of course, doing it all alone would hardly be any better, so she had acquired help. "Try to keep up Frostpaw!" she called back to the apprentice in a sing-song tone. "Think of it this way, the sooner we get done, the less time we have to spend out in the cold."
