I WANT SOMETHING JUST LIKE THIS

That morning when Dusk had awoken alongside the rest of the clan, he had not gone out to hunt right away. Instead the copper-gold tom had quickly licked down his sleep-ruffled fur and then made his way over to stand at the base of Tallrock. He didn't dare jump atop it knowing full well that was Sootstars place alone, but he didn't feel any anxiety as he took a seat on the ground right beneath it.

"Windclan, gather for patrol assignments!" he called, voice falling across the clearing to grab their attention before they split off on their own as they'd been used to doing up until now.

His voice was still rough from having only woken up, an octave or two deeper than they were probably used to hearing, but he didn't let that make him nervous. No, Dusk was excited for once. Now that he'd had a couple days to let things sink in, a sense of acceptence had finally settled over him regarding his new position. He knew there were still cats that weren't happy about it, and he knew there was still a part of him that didn't feel as if he'd rightfully earned the promotion, but at the end of the day he knew he wasn't about to give it up or challenge Sootstars decision, and if that was the case then he'd might as well embrace it fully and give it his all.

So he'd gone over the patrols the night before and, confident in his decisions, would announce them now before the clan. Hopefully Sootstar approved.

"Hyacinth, you'll be leading the patrol along the Shadowclan border. Take your apprentice, as well as Pebblenose and Leechpaw." They hadn't had any issues that he knew of with Shadowclan, and from what he'd been told there seemed to be a neutral-good standing between Soostar and Briarstar. Hyacinth would probably know what kind of impression their leader wished to make on the shadowclan cats, so he trusted her to take care of that.

"Weaselclaw, you'll be heading the patrol for the Thunderclan border. Take Lavenderstorm and Brightshine with you." He was sure that some part of Weasel was itching for a chance to prove themselves after the altercation with Cicadastar, so this would hopefully go smoothly or the other tom and provide just that.

"Inkylotus, I know you can't see like the rest of us, but you've been on these moors since before Windclan was even a thing and I trust you to keep things calm if you can, so your heading the Riverclan patrol. Take Heavysnow, Stormpaw, White-Eye, and Mallow with you- and remember, no fighting unless they absolutely ask for it." Sootstar had given them permission to defend Windclans honor, but honestly? He was hoping it didn't come to that. He'd chosen this patrol because Inky, Heavy, and Hunts all seemed like they had good heads on their shoulders and could avoid conflict through reason if th ey had to. And Mallow? Well, he just thought it would be fun to send the perpetually grinning tomcat along half for the laugh of seeing him unnerve some Riverclan cats witht hat toothy smile of his, and and half because he hadn't really seen them cause any issues in the clan, so why not?

"Rosepaw, Chickenscratch, and Lartrek are with me on hunting duty. Anyone who wasn't called on is welcome to join the hunting patrol if they want, otherwise you can take care of whatever needs doing in and around camp."

It was a strange feeling to address them like this, unnerving and exciting all at once, and he wondered what it was Sootstar felt when she stood atop Tallrock to address them all. Did she feel nervous as well? Thrilled? It was hard to pinpoint exactly, but he knew that whatever it was the blue shecat felt it was something she liked, because Dusk had no doubts that she would cut down any cat that tried to seperate her from her throne.

OOC- Sorry this took a few days to get up guys! I amde a last minute decision to just start them off ont he weekends so its nice and rounded rather than the middle of the week lol. Anyways! Patrol Leaders are responsible for getting their threads up and tagging their patrol mates. You may post these threads in the clan boards you were assigned to in order to encourage drama and interactions among the different clans, but remember- acting out or causing problems ICly can/will result in IC punishment most likely, so keep that in mind! Since there are only 2 lead warrior right now the third border patrol will have its leader switched out to give everyone a turn until more lead warriors are picked! Hopefully you guys have fun with how we're doing the patrols and enjoy, we'll be doing these every other week so there's pleanty of time to rp things out in your respective threads. Have fun! <3

Inkylotus

The sound of Duskfires' voice is what caught their attention initally, and he got up from his spot by where the warriors tended to sleep. Heading over he wondered what sort of things the new appointed deputy had in mind for todays events. Would Inky be able to go on patrol? He'd like that, a chance to go outside and enjoy some company with his fellow clanmates. Though as Duskfire went on about who would go on what patrols, sending patrols to the Shadowclan border, the Thunderclan border and the like. He listed off different cats to lead, of course two of them being Hyacinthbreath and Weaselclaw, though surprise bolted through his body. Him? Was this correct? Duskfire couldn't be serious- he had to be joking. Inkylotus leading a patrol of all things? How could he do that when he wasn't even able to fight or do anything but mediate?

The black cat shifted a bit in place, wanting to object to the subject of him being a patrol leader- surely one of the other cats listed to go with him would be better suit? Sure he had been here long before Windclan, but that didn't mean much to anyone else. Did Duskfire have trust in him? Certainly more trust in him than Sootstar had and he gave a softened expression, "Of course, Duskfire," He spoke softly and approached the tom with a soft nudge with his head. A silent thank you for the other believing in him enough to lead a patrol.

At the call of her name, and the duty of patrols on the horizon, Hyacinth lifted her head to nod at Duskfire. She was too tired to argue with him, and leading a patrol across that starclan forsaken stretch of black wasn't something she was excited about. She turned to her apprentice, Coldpaw, giving him a stern nod to begin getting ready for the patrol. Then, she turned to Pebblenose and Leechpaw.

"Keep up, and don't cause any trouble. ShadowClan and WindClan are on good terms. You have a few heartbeats to prepare, so let's go."

Oh, a patrol to RiverClan? Mallowlark spared the leader, one Inkylotus, a grey-eyes glance, his grin persevering. Though he knew that the shadow-cloaked tom could not see his smile, the curvature of I would lilt his every word no doubt- he'd hear the smile, sing-song skipping in his voice! To RiverClan they would go then, following the ebony tom's lead- and Mallowlark for one was looking forward to it!

"RiverClan," he chimed, congregating with the others who would be heading there, a bright grin upon his face that refused to meet his eyes in dance. Suddenly, as if he had been struck, the large tom straightened, an even more alight expression upon his face as breathy excitement met laughter through his words. "Oh, oh- do you reckon they'd let me go for a swim?"
