she was still skin and bones. she was still unable to eat really well. but her coherency was way better. she was sad, realizing now that it was never her mother there. she was loopy then.

she lay in her nest upright, her front paws crossed over each other, watching and stretching her claws for the millionth time. she was bored. she wanted to meet batwings kittens. she wanted to go pick flowers, go hunt, but she was behind massively.

she'd count the days, but now, she lost count. she didn't want contact with anyone, but she just wanted to look. surely.. there was nothing wrong with that- stretching her legs and just watching through the entrance?

so the tortie would, standing on shaky limbs she hasn't used much if at all. a step forward, and another. she would inhale a breath, gulping. her steps were slow, her long tail dragging behind her. starclan, she couldn't be happier to get better. to curl against tanseyshine. to train again. shed be healthy again!

a paw pushed through just a bit. exhaustion stuck to her face; eyes barely open as if fighting passing out. everyone was moving through camp, being assigned to patrols as the sun beamed brightly on them. the wind was really making it cold to her. Her green gaze drifted, a bit envious. She just wanted to be better.

nightbird had been assigned a later patrol, she wouldn't leave until the sun dipped low and the night breeze nipped at her ears. across camp she saw mottled fur, staggering with each step towards the camp entrance. tigerpaw, she wasn't an apprentice that nightbird was well acquainted with but anyone could see that the young molly shouldn't even be outside of berryheart's den, let alone out roaming the territory.

"you need to get back to your nest, there's no reason for you to leave it in this condition." her words came clipped, tail twitching in annoyance. she understood the feeling of being stuck, waiting to heal when there were a thousand better things to do. but no good came from pushing it before the body was ready, it seemed to have a way of always fighting back.

  • NIGHTBIRD she/her, lead warrior of thunderclan, twenty-seven moons
nightbird is a small black smoke molly with pale silver eyes. a loner turned thunderclanner, her loyalty and drive to provide for her clan is unwavering. however, she is not known for harboring a bleeding heart, instead equipped with sarcastically fueled wit, brutal honesty, and a sharply edged tongue.

Nightbird is right.” Raccoonstripe pauses near Berryheart’s den, still licking the remains of a thrush from his jaws. He’d been assigned to lead a hunting patrol, and though his paws itch to get going, he couldn’t help but to take a moment and re-inforce his co-lead warrior’s directive. He gives the dark she-cat a lingering look before turning back to Tigerpaw. “I know you’re bored cooped up in your nest, but the more you are out of it, the longer you’re prolonging getting better.

His voice is stern, though a fraction warmer than Nightbird’s. He supposes he can’t begrudge the little she-cat some fresh air, some sunlight, the waste of warmth on her tongue rather than medicine and sickness—but ThunderClan needs all it’s paws to be busy and healthy for the coming leafbare. Tigerpaw getting better is still the priority.

Bad luck is what it was, for Tigerpaw to be accosted by quite possibly, the two bossiest lead warriors the moment she takes a step from her nest. Wolfwind's never been great at readin' others, but she knows that she would lose her mind being sick and nest - bound for as long as Tigerpaw has been. Their scoldings are out of love— Wolfwind knows, but did Nightbird have to sound so grumpy about it? Raccoonstripe comes to soften the blow, but it ain't quite soft enough for her liking, still. Or maybe, beside the two hard - heads ( she says, as a fellow hard - head ), she feels the need to be a foil of sorts.

"Hey, hey, I'm sure Tigerpaw wasn't plannin' on going no further, " she offers the apprentice in question an easy out. She didn't no that for sure, but Tigerpaw looks like the might pass out if she goes any further anyways, just a bit. Sympathy in her gaze, Wolfwind cranes her neck toward her. " Can ya feel that sun? " Sun that was dwindling in warmth with Leafbare, but sun nonetheless. She sticks her nose a bit forward, lifting her chin; a gesture for Tigerpaw to follow her lead. " It's waitin' for ya. Once you're fully rested, that is. "

. ° ✦ Leopardtongue had been sick before him and his siblings had even been born, he's told it had been a few weeks after their birth that she had even been able to rejoin them in the nursery. But those days of closed eyes and ears are mere blurs to the young tom now as he romped and bounded across ThunderClans camp as if it were nothing.

Stormy blue eyes looked up from the remains of a crushed leaf under his paws to see Tigerpaw swayed back into returning to her nest. Nightbird and Raccoonstripe are more firm than the third Lead that chimed in- Wolfwind (she seemed the most fun out of all Howlingstar's council), and that drew Bravekit to come closer.

"HI TIGERPAW!!" The tabby shouted louder than he knew. He dug around in some of the tangles of his fur to pull out a torn maple leaf, clearly used for pouncing practice and he graciously offered it to the apprentice. "HERE!! Have my favorite pounce leaf. We can play with it when you get better, okay?"

  • BRAVEKIT — HE/HIM ・ 2 MOONS ・ THUNDERCLAN & KIT ・ PENNED BY beatae!
A Longhaired chocolate tabby/blue tabby chimera with deep blue eyes. Very thick coat that tangles easily. Paws that seem too big for his little body. Wide fuzzy satellite ears.

Her ears flattened a bit as Nightbird snapped at her. She understood, but she just wanted a glance. To refamiliarize. To try to remember faces and names. Only a couple would come back, and it even further saddened her gaze.

And, there really was no sight of her mother. At that, she knew it was just her hallucinating. As much as she wanted to believe, her mother wasn't there... and.. she couldn't dare think of the other options.

"I'm sorry.. I really just wanted to glance for a second.." her voice was gentle, so different from the raspy and painful voice it had been before. She was getting better, she could finally move again. Even if her steps were shaky.

She had found out she had been in the den for a moon and a half now. Whitelion had checked on her a couple of times, her mom.. or who she thought was her mother had checked on her. At least sometimes the hallucinations were comforting.

Wolfwind had took her own time to defend the tortie, and a gentle smile would cross Tigerpaws face. She knew it was out of care, all of them, but.. it was just lonely in there. "I really wasn't.. thank you wolfwind. I can't wait for the sun- and the flowers." She really couldn't wait for the flowers, unaware the cold would kill them off faster than she could expect.

a chocolate child she did not recognize bounded foreward. her green gaze looked excited at the little child, before a grin spread across her face. "A gift? Thank you, I will definitely play with you when I'm better... I promise." She'd hook the leaf with a claw, very careful not to get too close to the others, before pulling it towards her.

"Berryheart thinks I only have a few more days before I'm better.." Mostly she said that to comfort herself. She just hoped it was true. But she was getting better. So that's a start, right?

——— before the storm!.

Batwing seemed to appear on the heels of his young, like Bravekit wore a cloak of worry and nervousness bundled together in the form of his father. Batwing was by no means a young father- he was easily slipping into the word adult and full grown, so far from a fresh warrior. A lead warrior now, pride in his steps. Both for himself, for his young, for his mate. A tiny chuckle left him as he leaned down, dragging a tongue over Bravekit's excited fur.

"Take it easy on her, Bravekit, she's just starting to get over the sickness." He murmured softly, picking his head up to look towards Tigerpaw. Ears twitched- three lead warriors had already chewed her out, he was unsure if another 'chewing out' was needed. "Bravekit, this is Tigerpaw, my apprentice. Tigerpaw? This is my kit, Bravekit." After he had settled introductions, Batwing lifted his vision towards Tigerpaw.

"And you, my apprentice- did Berryheart clear you for a walk at all?" Batwing asked, ignoring the words of the other lead warriors. Yeah, some of them had seniority, but Batwing was the apprentice's mentor. And he got to ask the questions. Fuck yeah. "If the answer is 'no', you should head back to your sick-nest. I promise I'll take you beyond the camp as soon as you're healthy enough, yes?" He stated, head tilting.
