pafp I'M HOMESICK [ ✦ ] thinking about the moors

The patrol she had gone on earlier had not been enough. The moors were her home, the only place she is convinced she belongs. To not sleep underneath the stars, to have the night sky blocked by a canopy of green, felt like sacrilege. She feels dirty, unclean, as she sloughs through ThunderClan territory. How did they make do with such thick undergrowth? She may never know the answer. How did she ever do it when she lived among the marshes. Being here makes her realize how much happier she was now than she was then. WindClan, the moors, they were her home and she knows it without even a shadow of a doubt. To have that home ripped from her was as if someone had taken some vital piece of her.

"If those rogues have touched my nest I'll... I'll.." what? She was only one cat and they were so many "Well I dont know what I'll do but I hope StarClan makes them pay for it" her nest was one of the most important things to her. She had spent moons devising the perfect formula for optimum comfort and she knew the best ratios of wool and moss. To mess with such a beautiful creation would be the worst insult, plus she was angry that it had been ripped away from her. Someone else would get to enjoy all her hard work and she may as well be sleeping on a rock right now.

She looks at the tom next to her. Besides her siblings, Hollowcreek had been a constant in her life since the time they had spent together growing up in the marshes. He was someone she could rely upon she thinks, so when she had put together this little patrol for unofficial purposes she was glad when he had said yes. "What do you miss the most about back home?" she finds herself asking as they pull up to the border. To stand on this side of it and look out across the moors felt strange and it takes everything in her to resist that familiar tug whenever she sees the wide open space. The urge to run and be free.

    - - Reckless. Impulsive. Spontaneous. These are all the words that may come to mind if asked to describe Bluepool. She is an incredibly loyal cat who loves her family, her friends, and her clan fiercely. She is well known for her outspoken behavior, often just speaking whatever is on her mind or diving into things without really stopping to consider the consequences of her actions first. Once she has set her mind on something it is difficult to get her to change it.

Being driven from a home they had fought so hard to keep theirs, to keep safe and truly WindClans had felt like being thrown to the whims of the wind. Aimless, uncontrollable, not a single paw among them could place what would happen to them next. It was no secret Sootstar was rallying to reclaim their home no matter the cost, and Hollowcreek was nothing if not viciously loyal to his leaders word. But they all knew it would be the bloodiest battle their claws would see since...

If those rogues have touched my nest I'll...

Bluepool took Hollowcreek away from his silent thinking, distant gaze returning to the moors they longed to return to. Her frustrated rumbling brought a small bit of amusement, but he didn't dare show a smile. In the tumultuous storm their Clan was left in, hearing her concern over something such as a nest brought a shine to him. When she looked to him she'd find his sights had already rest on her, a hint of mirth in his eyes.

"Beyond missing having a sett to sleep in away from the eyes of our neighbors... The wind is sweeter back home. Sitting amongst the gorse and heather, waiting for the patrol to chase the rabbits into your paws. It was quiet. I shouldn't have taken it for granted." Hollowcreek's voice is distant, clear he was recalling the comfort in memories.

In her life, there had been little time that Lilacstem had been away from the moors for so long. It had been the only home she had, and although the first cats of WindClan had slowly taken over the moors, it was still her home. Her flesh and blood were part of the moors itself.

"I miss the wide open space," Lilacstem mewed softly, respond to Bluepool's question about what she would miss most of all. "The freedom to run and see so much around you. The smells, the sights, the sounds. You won't find anything like it anywhere else in the forest." Lilacstem was of course grateful for the shelter they found among the other clans, but the forest would never be her home. She was born on the moors and she had every intention of dying here too.
