DON'T YOU GIVE ME UP, PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP
major tw for misgendering / transphobia, dissociation
the sun rays soaked their fur, making them stretch out, flipping over belly side up, kneading the air with a big yawn before pulling their paws back down with a gentle smack of their tongue against the roof of their mouth. they were relaxing. stars knew how long it had been since they'd simply done that but they needed to. they needed to just take a load off. and so that's what they were doing, or at least trying to. as they laid their, they couldn't help but hear the warriors who laid nearby them. chilledgaze did their best to ignore them but they couldn't help but tune in when they heard their name.
"-yeah, and chilledgaze barely said a thing at the gathering! she just hissed on about not talking to thunderclan. she's always-"
they were quick to roll back over on their stomach. their eyes shrunk back slightly, as they shook their head. an all too familiar feeling seems to latch onto them and they stand up. they feel... weird. like their paws were not their own. they weren't really there. but they slowly looked over as they heard their name once more.
"you think she has plans for hunting? pitchstar did say that it was chilledgaze's responsibility. she probably has no clue what to do."
"yeah... probably not."
the warrior seemed to wince a bit but they said nothing. chilledgaze took in a breath, ears pinning back against their head. my daughter. you're my daughter and i will always love you.
the echoed about whispers in their head and they shake their head. they feel sick. they're not... that's not who they were. why couldn't anyone see that? they weren't a tom, they weren't a she cat. they simply were a cat. a shadowclanner. the deputy. and it... didn't seem to be enough.
"....chilledgaze! hey! you're spacing out... are you alright?"
they almost nod but they're interrupted.
"she's probably exhausted. you see how she carried herself. like she never sleeps."
stop saying that. stop calling me that.
they want to say, but no words come out. their face only twists in discomfort and they shrug lightly.
"yeah... i just... need to get some rest is all. i'll be back in tip top shape by next sunrise."
//feel free to have your character correct the warrior but chilledgaze will try to brush it off further
