I'm not okay [ Sunfreckle ]

The sun was starting it's retreat for the evening. She should be resting now, but her stomach was churning, her paws antsier than ever. There was no way she could sleep knowing that tomorrow she would be meeting the other clan's chosen cats to begin their journey. This is my last night here...possibly ever. She felt nauseous...lightheaded. There were so many clanmates she needed to formerly say goodbye too...and so little time.

Heavy paws carry her to the nursery. Next to Flycatcher, Sunfreckle was her next closest friend. She couldn't imagine possibly never seeing him or his kits again...if she did return, his children would be apprentice aged and will have started their apprenticeship. Her eyes rounded with grief, remembering how her and Flycatcher had decided on having another litter before Yellowcough started. He'll find another mate... she pushed the dark thought away, doing her best to compose herself. She shakes her pelt, almost like she was trying to shake the thought away. She pushes her muzzle into the den, not finding herself strong enough to enter. "Sunfreckle?" her voice was quiet, slightly strained. "Do you have a moment?"

He was not privvy to the meeting of the rest of the council, even after his talk with Howlingstar he felt a little bothered by it but her showing up after to catch him up to date had eased some of his fretting. Not by a lot given what had occurred, but enough he could feel included and could dismiss his own trivial feelings in favor of the bigger issue. Sunfreckle was more than a little thrilled his friend saw fit to see him before they left, offering a smile as she stepped into the den and patting his lone paw onto the ground before him for her to sit and join him.

"Always for you." For Flamewhisker he could make a moment if he didn't have one, but the kits were sleeping as kits often did after the most minimal of excitement and a brief farewell to the cats who would leave him. Maybe he was selfish for it, but he could not help but be a little relieved none of his family would be going and he felt deeply ashamed of that feeling but the closest he could get to it would be the ginger she-cat herself and, of course, her daughter. Their families were close, as close as he was to Little Wolfs as well and it was such a monumental loss to have them leaving to carry such a burden. He would pray every night to StarClan for their safety if he had to.
