There's an absent-minded thought of maybe she could convince the clan to take the hay from horseplace to line their nests with. It was never the softest substance in the world but the material could insulate, the barn always felt warm even on the colder nights. They could always just line it with moss or if they were lucky enough to find more sheep's wool that could work too. He had been sitting on the thought for a while but had never really felt inclined to actually suggest it to Scorchstar. The WindClan leader seems nice enough but she knows that they're stern, if the idea was foolish than they would probably hold no qualms in shutting it down.

So it remains an absent minded thought floating in her mind as she relines her nest with feathers and scraps of fur that she had found out in the moors. Beside her was Silk-kit, when he popped his head into the nursery to request little helpers in delivering materials she had seemed more than thrilled to be part of it. If not the sole participant, the other kittens were engaged in other activities and Marigoldstem can't really fault them for that.

"So I think these feathers should go with that cluster of apprentices nests over there" there's a twang of a drawl in her tone as the young warrior gestures behind her with his tail. He assumes that she's fine with this decision, that she's confident enough to speak up especially in moments like these.

"Maybe we can give those with smaller scraps of fur a little more moss so that way it's even" he mumbles to himself with a sigh. Missing the luxuries that the warmer weather regaled them with, especially in regards to materials. The marigold petals in her fur had started to wilt and he's willing to exchange them for feathers somewhere else but it isn't the same. Something to look forward to when the weather becomes warm again she supposes.

The cream tabby looks over her shoulder at her temporary protégé with a curious expression. Warm eyes coloured by confusion as he could have sworn she said something. Though clearly he had been lost in thought and unable to process it properly. "Sorry darlin' I get real mumbly when plannin. Could you repeat that?"

Silk-kit, who had been quietly listening to Marigoldstem's musings, carefully smooths down the fur around her paws, ensuring every hair is in its place. Her bright blue eyes flicker thoughtfully at the warrior's suggestions. She opens her mouth to speak again, "Oh, I said I think you're absolutely right," She trills lightly, her tone sure. "These feathers will definitely help with warmth. And, oh! Perhaps we can add just a bit more moss underneath, to make it a bit cushier? A little extra comfort never hurts, after all!"

She pauses to adjust a piece of moss in a nearby nest before continuing, her head tilted in thought. "I do think we must take care with the placement, though. It's all about balance!" She speaks in her typical dramatic tone, ears pricking. "It would be dreadful to have any of the nests feel lumpy or uncomfortable. They must be cozy!"

The she-kit gives Marigoldstem an enthusiastic smile, her tail flicking with excitement. "Thank you for letting me help! It's such a lovely thing to contribute to!" Her round gaze drifts to the other parts of camp as she continues to tidy the nests around her, her mind already imagining how they could make everything just a little more comfortable, just a little more luxurious.
