IN A LOST & LONELY PART OF TOWN 𓆣 introduction

BEETLEJUICE

Guest

How many sunrises had it been since he'd "joined" Skyclan? The young tom couldn't quite recall exactly how much time had passed since he'd somewhat begrudgingly elected to join the group of wildcats. And for what purpose had it served him? There didn't seem to be any real benefit to fooling around outside all day everyday. Although he supposed it was better than watching that rather annoying picture box his twolegs enjoyed so much. The pattern of colors he'd come to recognize and make the connection from his namesake (as they quite often pointed out) was driving him to his wits end. His humans surely wouldn't miss him all that much if he ventured out for the day? Without a second glance over his shoulder, the tom slips out of the cat door, prancing on the familiar path to Skyclan's camp.

"It's showtime!" He calls out to no cat in particular as he struts into camp, grinning at a pair of young she-cats who only give him a distasteful look before returning to their conversation. "Tough crowd..." Muttering with a roll of his eyes, the tom glances around camp, eager to find his "victim" of the day. The poor cat that decided to engage with him would be stuck with him for the remainder of the day's activities, and considering the sun was hardly rising in the sky, they were in for a long day.

"Oh!" He squeaked, quietly, as nestled in the corner by the entrance, a warrior the size of Beetlejuice, if not smaller would peek his head out and scramble forward. When he would eat, he'd stick to the outskirts of camp, fearful of birds taking him away. It never happened, but he remembered being attacked ruthlessly by the small ones claws. That didn't mean he didn't like to watch them though- from a distance. "What d-do you mean, showtime? Are we g-go-going to go b-bird-watching?" Shrewflight tilted his small head slightly, nearing closer to the day walker.

"Then we can eat them, yeah, th-the b-b-blue jays have the p-prettiest feathers, and the queens would lo-love them for d-decoration-" he cut himself off, feeling the heat to his ears in embarrassment at his rambling. Already speaking so much to a stranger, they were probably tired of waiting for him to spit it out already.

The tough crowd is Figfeather as she meets the newcomer, Beetle’juice’ with a tired stare. She was uneasily impressed by eccentric daylight warriors, especially this early in the day. Shrewflight is a more pleasant face to immediately greet even if naive and oblivious.

”He’s just saying words.” She meows before letting out a quiet yawn, her jaw parts from the roof of her mouth to show off her canine teeth, the sun glinting against them. ”Bird hunting would be a good idea though. The fresh-kill is low this morning and the clan is hungry.” The same old drill.

Beetlejuice was yet to be assigned a mentor officially, from what Figfeather knew, so Shrewflight and her wouldn’t need to ask permission to take him out onto the territory. ”If you are up to it, Shrewflight, we could take Beetlejuice and put our paws to work.”

Reactions: owlpaw.

"Maybe it's a... Circus thing?" She still wasn't really sure what a circus one, she knew that it was some form of Twoleg thing from Kurt but hadn't pressed further into the subject. There was a quiet curiosity from Owlheart when it came to Twolegplace related subjects, she didn't know for sure if this was one of them but she just assumed so. The ginger tabby looked to the daylight warrior to try and discern if she was right in this assumption or not, looking for the smallest glimmer of recognition.

She isn't surprised that Figfeather managed to steer the conversation to what form of work they should all be doing right now, it was something she admired. She couldn't imagine being so assertive and not afraid to be the one to keep everyone on track, she could be blunt sure but in her opinion that only made it better that she's a lead warrior. Though, the idea of bird watching was a lot more appealing compared to hunting them. Stretching against the ground in a last attempt to bask up the suns rays she pushed herself up to join the small group gathered.

"Could I join the hunt? Better to have more paws, right?" She raises her voice so that the timid meow could be heard amongst the chatter of clanmates. There was a quiet hope that maybe they could combine the two, part of the hunting involves tracking and in some abstract way that could be considered bird watching. "Afterwards we could also watch birds? If you're not tired of them by then" the suggestion is quiet, not attempting to raise her voice to be heard like before. She wouldn't mind if that got lost in the chatter but she looks to Shrewflight hopefully regardless.

Speaking of birds... "Beetlejuice, do your twolegs have a bird?" The idea of a crimson feather tucked away in her nest filters across the young warriors mind, she wasn't sure what they were called and that had been an itch that she can't quite scratch for sometime. If he didn't know what a circus was then surely he may not what the Twoleg birds are called.
