Mannnn I'm so bored. Can hunting get anymore boring? It was his job and he knew it, but sometimes (a lot), he wished they could do something fun. Today he decided to stick with Flora as they hunted. He wouldn't say they were friends or knew each other well, but he wouldn't leave her to rot just as she wouldn't leave him to rot. However, the longer he stared at her back, mischievous thought ran amok. Oh yeah, this will shake things up! The sparrow in his jaws was dropped before he yelled, "FLORA WATCH OUT!" Immediately he picked up the same sparrow he dropped and flung it at her with the intent of hitting her. Not like a wee sparrow would hurt her. And if he had missed, he would take it in stride. Meaning, he'd still very much find a way to twist this story around? How you may ask? It's simple.

Pants leave his maw as he rushes to Flora and looks down at the deceased bird. "Wow... I've never seen a bird fall from the sky and die like that. Makes you wonder how many of these lil' guys just ram into trees and die. Whelp, looks good enough to bring to camp." In a flair of dramatics the blue tom balances on his hind legs and stretches his arms to the sky with eyes closed. "Thank you Starclan for delivering us free food, and keep giving us more."

Beetleback was not alone in finding hunting boring, Flora didn’t understand how anyone could possibly hunt alone. How were you supposed to pass the time during the boring moments where nothing was happening if you didn’t have someone to chat with? She had been idly considering what conversational topic she could bring out of the storage of her brain for moments like these. She wasn’t ashamed to admit that was very much a thing that she considered in her spare time.

Due to this she was slower than she would like to be in terms of reaction time when Beetleback had yelled out her name. Fur bristled as she went to yell back about what had happened, immediately thinking the worst. That was when she felt a small impact against her side. She recoiled at first, not so much from any pain but rather the shock of something colliding with her. The maine coon looked down to realise that this wasn’t any actual danger but a tiny sparrow. This had caused her to burst into laughter, definitely too loud and scaring away anything that was nearby.

She could have sworn that she didn’t hear the sound of a bird falling but she was lost in thought thinking about conversation topics. This wasn’t completely out of the question for her at all to have missed this. Her gaze drifted down at the sparrow below her then towards the sky , trying to pinpoint where the little bird had come from. “Not enough to make it an easy hunt” she comments wistfully with a sigh, the idea of just… finding food waiting for them was appealing to her. Always a fan of having to do less work, no matter how much she was trying to change that mindset some parts of it would just stick around.

Her laughter continues at the dramatics that he displays, deciding to follow his lead she mirrors him. Balancing on her own hind legs and stretching her arms towards the sky “please give us another bird from the skies StarClan, we will be oh so thankful” she drawls with a lazy smile before setting herself back down on all four paws. Green eyes look between the bird and the warrior, a brown paw pushing the sparrow towards him so that he could carry it, not realising that it was his in the first place.

“Do these birds even taste any good? Does any of this taste bad? She wondered out loud, curiosity evident in her tone. She wouldn’t dream of eating from the fresh kill pile, even if she could she was pretty sure she would still prefer the food that her twolegs gave her. Yet, her imagination did run wild on what the things that she hunted for the clan tasted like.
Flora couldn't believe that it hadn't crossed her mind to ask about this, out of everyone though it seemed the most likely for Beetleback to answer her out of the blue question.
