*+:。.。 Children weren't Ebonylight's favorite thing in the world.
They were hungry, noisy little things, a hindrance to any cat no matter how commonplace food and shelter became. I mean, look at these two little things, their lives were too short to prove worthwhile in hunting or protecting and yet they alone contributed to the catalyst that would soon devour Windclan. It was crazy to Ebonylight that cats would wage a war more for the potential of a cat than the cat itself - after all, what even was Halfkit to Shadowclan? Not as though she were a brilliant hunter they couldn't afford to lose, or the last remaining child they'll ever push out. She was a burden in every way, shape, and form...

"Hey Lark-kit, care for a game?" Ebonylight purrs amicably as they approach the nursery entrance. Of course, Ebonylight wasn't going to make the little kit suffer with his opinions on the matter. Doing so wouldn't be entertaining for the shadowy feline. No, he was actually interested in genuinely getting to know the little tyke. After all, if Sootstar deems this burden useful, then there has to be something Ebonylight isn't seeing. In the very least, it'd be fun to bat around a bomb, so why not?
"I'm Ebonylight, by the way, a pleasure to finally meet you, little one" he purrs, crouching down to make proper eye contact with the gremlin, "I was thinking, since you're our newest favorite Windclanner, what if I teach you about moor-running? Like, for example, how we protect our clanmates from - badger attacks! " If Halfkit's response thus far was a positive, excited one, then Ebonylight would aim to scoop the kitten into his paws and promptly throw her onto his back. For Ebonylight's limited knowledge about kits, he'd witnessed that they were big into thrill-seeking at least. Of course, if Halfkit showed herself to be shy, he wouldn't go so far as to touch her knowing how fragile timid children can be. Hopefully, Halfkit would be the latter - shy children were exhausting to deal with.

Luckily for Ebonylight, Halfkit was not the type of kit who was shy. In fact, she was often described as the very opposite! Its like she had never met a stranger in her life. Though perhaps she would not be here right now if just some sense of stranger danger had been instilled in her but npc already found her job burdensome enough and as she had stated many times she was not Halfkits mother nor did she want to be. And Halfkit, being young, does not take that phrase to mean she is annoying but rather that Mistystep does not wish to be dead which is understandable. She does not wish to be dead either.

She twists her face upwards to look at the older cat who speaks to her, pausing in the activity she is engaging in to do so. The bug she had been tormenting takes the opportunity to scamper away but she barely notices, enamored as she is with the idea of learning more about being a moor runner. That and flattery was a sure fire way to her heart. "Uh duh of COURSE I want to learn about that! Im gunna be the best moor runner ever one day!" she boasts and then suddenly she is being scooped up onto the warriors back, though not without a shrill squeak of surprise on her end.

She knew what this was! It was a badger ride! "Jokes on you because Im the BEST at badger rides!" she says from her perch, Mistystep had once told her that she was the best at being a burr in ones pelt so that had to count for something right?
