SkyClanners are known for climbing trees, right? It's what the black smoke feline has heard from clanmates, and more so seen himself. His clanmates scale up pine trees like it's nothing; whether to go after an unsuspecting bird, or to keep watch of the overall area. Copia, admittedly, isn't much of a climber. It depends where you live in the twolegplace, but the area he called "home" didn't have huge, towering trees like the pine in SkyClan. The trees were more like twigs; they barely provided any shade, and their branches would snap if a cat tried to climb them.

The black smoke finds himself out in SkyClan territory, sitting before a pine tree. His tail twitches, to the former rogue this appears to be an average size tree. He's seen cats from all ages being able to climb these, even cats as young as an apprentice. It can't be that hard, eh? He quietly thinks to himself as he stands up, ears pinning back.

He shifts his paws, but makes a pounce to the tree; and instinctively his claws dig into the bark when he makes contact. He can feel his heart racing in his ears; but he pulls himself up forward with his sharp claws, getting further and further away from the ground. Don't look down. Don't look down. He tells himself as a sturdy branch comes into view, he just needs to make it to that branch! The black smoke huffs and climbs up, his claws digging into the base of the branch.

Copia pulls himself up, and lets out a tired sigh; wow they really make that look easy! He sits on the branch and his heart continues to race, his tail draping over. Copia blinks, and finds himself looking down at the ground— how high did he manage to climb? And how is he supposed to get down? "Er, I didn't think that through," Copia says mostly to himself, suddenly finding himself grasping onto the branch like his life depends on it. "How do I, eh, get down?"

SORRELSONG

♥ ♥ ♥ ♡ ♡

"You jump," The words came out like a giggle. The huntress had been out, keeping her paws busy. Her tail twitch's, whiskers picking up a whisper of prey near by. She sat on a branch, not to far from the smoke point. The look on the cat's face was not a new one to her - she'd had the honor of mentoring before - but her touch had maybe deteriorated. Where she would've guided and encouraged Florabreeze, she simply observed the cat through tired eyes.
She sniffed the air. He had an odd scent about him, but the notes of Sky Clan. "Bend your knees, trust your tail and jump."

↪ OOC:

*✿❀○❀✿* It was much easier to retrain oneself to climb trees than it was to learn how. The leaves rustled in your ear as the branches trembled in the wind. Even though Bella still lacked the grace of her peers, she still made herself jump from branch to branch. She had to spend a considerable amount of time training her body to become accustomed to the territory, just like many others who were not born in Skyclan.

Perhaps that's the reason behind her constant glances down at the black smoke cat climbing his own tree. Her tail coiled to and fro as she watched with a worried expression as his nervous voice carried on the wind, causing her to pause and cautiously sit on her perch.

"I could always jump down first and you can copy me," she called out after Sorrelsong. Her mouth dropped when she realized that he should stop gripping onto the limb and move Into a saver position. "I promise hun the ground isn’t as far as you think it is. If you don’t feel safe jump down."

IF THE POINT'S TO NEVER DISAPOINT YOU, SOMEBODY'S GOT TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO

”Why did you climb up if you don’t know how to get down?” Quill asked, not sounding so much annoyed as he was confused. Surely this tom -who was right around Quills age- had at least enough common sense to know that was a bad idea?

Well, at least they hadn’t gone past the first branch. That would have not only been stupid as hell, but dangerous, and likely a mark against him as a ‘mentor’. Not that his track record was great anyways. Orangestar hadn’t given him another after Plaguepaw, and he didn’t blame her one bit. Copia didn’t count, of course. They were a grown-ass cat who could take care of themselves, not needing Quill for much else than guidance and the occasional training session. It was the intensive, life-building thing an apprenticeship from childhood was.

”She’s right, you're only at the first branch. You can probably jump and it’ll be fine.” Probably, because Quill didn’t know if they were a shitty jumper or not, and if they twisted their paw coming down from a branch that low it wasn’t going to be entirely on him.
