He practically tackles the other kit to the ground in his excitement as he bounds after Pillbugkit, the first face he spots when he decides he's had enough pestering his mama in the nursery. "Pillbugkit!" he shrieks in glee as he tumbles into the ground, missing the she-kit entirely but through a lack of effort. The clan seems so sad lately, the deaths that weigh heavily on everyone just manages to float over his own head. Wide rusted amber eyes stare up at her from the position on the ground he had ended up, tail tumbling over head he rests on his shoulders, head pressed to the ground while his body hangs up in the air. Finding amusement from staring at her upside down he falls into a fit of giggles. "Let's play a game! Wait no! First, what are ya up to?" Maybe she was doing something far more interesting than he had expected. Wherever she chooses to elaborate on his day or not he respositions himself to be sitting up normally, brushing the dirt and mud from his pelt, not doing a particularly good job but that's okay! He could use this as an excuse to make Pebbletail spend even more time with him today.

"Did ya wanna play predator and prey today?" He blinks up at her with a shake of his pelt once more. "So one of us is the prey and we have to run away from the predator! When the predator touches us then we're dead and ya hav'ta play dead" he pauses, rambling quickly only to abruptly cut himself off. Looking around to see the camp supciously lacking of kits, they must be all off playing a different game. "It's a little hard with just two" he confesses with a flick of his rather spindly looking tail. It seems inspiration strikes him because stands up rather abruptly "I got it! Lets go see if we can find a big fish, the first one to find it has to give a dare to the loser!" That was exciting, that way they could keep playing too. Predator and prey is fun and all but it can get repetitive really quickly. Plus he's noticed that Pillbugkit seems to like looking at things so maybe she would find it interesting.

"C'mon! I'll race you to tha river!" He scurries off to the river bank, being so so so careful as to not trip this time in his efforts to race. Screeching to a halt with his chest rising and falling rapidly he crouches on the dirt, peeing over for the first shadow in the water he can find. "D'ya think you can finish the story you were telling the other day?" He asks in a whisper, as to not scare any potential fish away. He had cut her off yesterday, Pebbletail had came home from a hunting patrol and he wanted to be the first one to greet him.

PILLBUGKIT
she/her ❀ riverclan kit

Tiny lily pads drift on the shaded blue surface of the river, this winding curve near the warriors' den faithfully guarded by an old willow. Its lowest-drooping branches tickle Pillbugkit's ears, and she giggles softly as she peers at the chipped rounds of green, her solemn little face creased in concentration. Could one of those hold her weight, if she stepped lightly? They look like the bathing pools of the little spirits Ma used to tell her about, or maybe like their beds… the lily pads' edges are turned up and delicately curled, like the wings of a fresh butterfly.

Luckily for Pillbugkit, Bogkit distracts her from her ill-fated mission. " Bogkit! " she greets with equal verve, although admittedly less screechily. The tricolor she-kit dissolves into a fit of giggles as he flops over on himself, like the bugs Pillbugkit was named for. " Looking at the lily pads. They look like nests for spirits, " she intones sagely, bouncing a little on her puppyish legs. In a rather unprincesslike way, Pillbugkit snorts as Bogkit sits up, his quilted pelt smeared with generous daubs of mud.

" Sure! " Pillbugkit replies, the corners of her muzzle quirking up in a pleased smile. Playing with her new Clanmates was almost as fun as walking the valleys with Ma, plus, everyone's all gray right now. They seem a little more colorful with the kits scampering around, though, even if Bogkit's parents both have a little gray in them. Sort of like a tiny storm cloud on the edge of a big blue sky. " Oh-kay, " she mrrows, trilling each syllable in a warbling, girlish imitation of the birdsong sounding through the nodding birches.

Just as fast as he'd arrived, Bogkit is off towards the truest run of the riverbank, a place more bustling than this glossy, sleepy corner. " Hey, wait for me! " Pillbugkit squalls, not really offended, her pale forepaws slapping the ground as she chases after her denmate. In her haste, one puppylike leg tangles over the other, and the next Pillbugkit knows, she's doing a quick tumble head-over-tail. She sits up by the river, her head fur rumpled and a smear of wet sand staining one cheek. A grin spreads over her face as she mrrows, " Look, now we match! "

Pillbugkit rolls over like a toppled crab to crouch by the riverbank, shoulder to shoulder with Bogkit. She screws up her ash-brown eyes, hoping they won't be so big, the reflection scares the fish away. No shadows yet… but there's gonna be one soon, she's sure, and she'll totally win! Then she can dare Bogkit to… to… to… well, Pillbugkit doesn't quite know yet, but it'll be the best dare in the history of dares. Ever.

" Sure, " Pillbugkit whispers in her best quiet voice, the one her Ma taught her to use when she talked to the invisible spirits in the sky or the water. That's right, Bogkit had disappeared halfway through her story about how turtles got their shells. Pillbugkit doesn't really mind, though… he was going to see Pebbletail, who's really nice and has cool orange eyes, just like Bogkit. " So, like I said yesterday, the spirits in the wind invited the turtle to come to the tallest mountain to visit. "

Pillbugkit puts on her best storytelling voice, trying to lend her kittish mew some of the deep gravity she remembers from the tales her Ma use to murmur in her ear. " But the turtle said no, 'cause she liked her home best of all. Sorta like how Beefang likes the medicine den best of all. " Softly, Pillbugkit snickers at the notion of Beefang carrying the whole medicine den on her back. " The spirits were mad, since the turtle didn't want to come see them. So they stuck her home to her back, and made her carry it forever! " The tricolor she-kit puffs out her chest a little, pleased with her story.

The squeaky call of Pillbugkit isn't ignored per say, he acknowledged it but refused to say anything. A subtle flick of his tail says it all, yet he would not give up on this race. What does capture his attention is the sound of a body hitting the ground, small grunts of air as limbs go over head. It reminds him of when he had immediately lost his race with Joykit. Though it seemed that she was handling it much better than she was, his ego had been bruised while she was all giggly and seemed to still have fun with it. A small paw raises and then slaps at the wet sand that had came with her, though she has other ideas. Smearing it over her pale fur and cheek, his grin only widens if that was somehow possible. An uncomfortable display of gums and teeth, catching the fractions of sunlight around them. "No way!" Is wrestled from in in the midst of a fit of laugher, shoulders shaking as he shakes the mud off his pelt and it lightly splashes her in turn.

His gaze falls onto the river, pelt rippling in excitement. Head craning and extending from his relaxed position, tail curled in interest as he debates lurching at the slightest hint of a shadow. Only to realise that it was just his own ear since he had leant forward that far, if he was a poor sport he might have claimed that to be a fish. Though if it was then he wouldn't get to ask about Pillbugkit's story and that somehow seemed even less fun to him. When she agrees to continue it from yesterday he has to contain himself from laughing and scaring off the fish.

"Mhm did the turtle say yes?" He asks in a loud whisper, paying no mind to how loud it actually is. If he was the turtle he would say yes, spirits in the wind sounds fun. He's heard a little bit about the other clans, would WindClan have spirits? Is that just StarClan? He thinks about asking Splashdance about it when he comes bounding towards her once more to rest. He's so enraptured by Pillbugkit's storytelling voice that he hadn't noticed the fact that she said the turtle said no at first. "What!?" He squeaked in dismay, tufted ears flattening as he realised he may have scared off the fish. Paws dig into the ground as he tilts his head at her. The turtle likes her home best of all, just like Beefang with the medicine den, this makes sense.

The gasp of horror continues at the turtles punishment. He scrambles from where he had been lying, pushing himself forward so their foreheads bonk next to one another. Paws raise to poke at Pillbugkit's shoulders "What happened to the turtle next!? Is she sad? Does that mean Beefang will hav'ta carry the medicine den forever?" he babbles as freely as the river flows. Not registering the personal space he's intruding large rust eyes blink at her "I like this story!" As if he was a matter of authority over what makes a story good or not. "We should look for a turtle... see if one of them are from your story" how cool would that be? Surely waaaaay cooler than looking for the shadows of fish.
