❀‿ The dawn was clear-skied and the air was crisp, and Lupinepaw was touched with a sense of nostalgia for a day much like this one, moons ago now, during the last warm drags of Greenleaf. The world had seemed so big to her then, when she was but a kitten trailing after her mother's heels, and she thought she would never feel ready to walk on her own four paws. The forest did not seem so big anymore — perhaps she had just grown into it, or perhaps it was a result of her coming to realize just how fleeting everything was. So much was different, and Greenleaf hadn't even returned yet.
Lupinepaw shifted nervously on her feet, pawing at the sandy earth beneath them. The unfortunately-timed emotional turbulence of the past moon or so left a lingering ache in her chest. She half-hoped the anxiety would metamorphose into a useful sort of tenacity, but her capacity for anger was fleeting and wispy at her most heated, and instead she gave off more of a stalked-bird energy.
Well, either way, she must be tested, whether she felt up for it or not. If she failed horribly, there was always next moon. Probably. But that would also be like, extremely humiliating and the worst moon of her life. So she hoped she passed. She hoped it was easy. Wait. She didn't mean that. She hoped that she was secret so skilled that she made it look easy. That was better, right?
Pale leaf-bud eyes met the three unmatching ones of her assessing pair and a smile is offered to the both of them, hopefully appearing more polite than nerve-stricken, "I guess it's time to get started, right..?"
