Wavepaw knew he was one of the more... eccentric personalities of his friends, and he also knew he tended to annoy them with his constant need for their attention. But what was the point of having friends at all if you couldn't coerce them into spending time with you?

The fluffy tomcat had successfully hunted down his target, Valepaw, just outside the apprentice den. He hadn't quite come up with a plan for how he was going to bother the quiet apprentice just yet, but something would come to him in due time. With a chipper grin on his face, Wavepaw bounced forward on happy paws, his tail practically dancing behind him. "Valepaaaw, I've been looking for youuu~" he sang as he tumbled to a halt in front of the multicolored youth, his grin turning sly when he kicked up a bit of snow in his wake.

There it is. A golden idea sprang to mind, and Wavepaw tried to look innocent as he trotted circles around his victim. He'd already decided that Valepaw needed to relax and have a bit of fun, and what better way to do that in this frigid winter wonderland than a snow fight? "You're looking a bit too warm today, don'tcha think?" He giggled evily as he came back around to face Valepaw, suddenly digging his paw into the snow and flinging a pawful of white powder in his direction before springing away with a delighted squeal. The thick snow covering the ground slowed him down a bit, so he decided to use it to his advantage and burrowed down into it a few foxlengths away, his hind end wriggling in the air playfully as he waited for the retribution to come.

Spending time with his den-mates had become... noticeably more difficult after the whole debacle with Robinpaw. He didn't regret stepping in to defend her honor, it was necessary and fair and just... all the things a prince should be. But it didn't change the hard glares from his peers. Nettlepaw and Aspohdelpaw were far more likeable, he contributed some of this to their sheer age meaning they'd had more time to make those relationships and their willingness to speak in sentences greater than a pawful of words.

At least he had some support in the form of a pale girl adorned in herbal scented petals. She would be enough for now... and Bitepaw of course (though he suspected they'd get into trouble eventually for some random outburst his friend had). The sound of his name being called is enough to make his ears flatten, rearing his head back like he'd been smacked across the face with it rather than a harmless breath of sound. Why do they always have to do that, he thinks with a frustrated sigh, brows furrowing as he watches Wavepaw flounce towards him.

He flicks the tip of his tail in a passive greeting, feeling the way his teeth grit uncomfortably in his mouth. The bubbly apprentice whirls around him with a gaze narrowed with mischievous glimmering. His lips purse in a silent question, What are you plotting?

The answer wouldn't evade him for long- a deluge of icy powder drops atop his head. Thankful for his wooly, warm-curled fur, the boy lets out a playful exhale, shaking out his feathery ears as a smirk creeps along his face. "No need to be jealous," he chirps, stretching kitten-chunky limbs into the snow to cover his dual-toned pelt. He waits with careful consideration of his clan-mate's pawsteps before rushing forward suddenly, aiming to flop overtop of Wavepaw and bury the both of them in the snow with a squealing laugh.

*+:。.。 Silverbreath's ears would hike up at the sound of young cats squealing in delight. Lifting his head from where he'd been absently chewing on some grass - it takes your mind off of not being able to chew on other things - he blinked to watch the two unlikely friends tussle in the snow. It made him immediately smile, his chest filling with warmth, particularly at the sight of Valepaw socializing. The little guy had seemed so on edge after what had happened with Robinpaw. That, coupled with his nervousness around his training, Silverbreath was worried the poor kid wasn't having as much fun enjoying his youth as he could be.
Luckily it seemed Wavepaw was here to come to the rescue! A bright and cheerful boy, his potential radiating as brightly as his smile! Riverclan was lucky to have a tyke like him around, and if he wasn't already overjoyed with Goldenpaw as his apprentice he might've requested to train the kid himself!

For now, Silverbreath wouldn't interrupt their bonding, resting his head on his paws and enjoying the sight of the too-small boys having their little row. But too small they certainly were...with tensions brewing from Windclan and the weather growing so dreadfully cold, he ached less from the hunger and more from the idea of these two's happy days quickly becoming numbered. What Silverbreath wouldn't give to ensure the kids grew up big, strong, and most importantly, happy.
Maybe the dad-hormones didn't go away after Carp-paw grew out of the nursery stage, or maybe the pesky little one unlocked something soft and squishy in Silverbreath's heart, but man was it difficult to not look at the youths of Riverclan and want to give his absolute all to ensure they had everything they needed.

Lifting his nose to the sky, he'd sniff the air. Hopefully, things would get better soon...hopefully...
