Howlpaw didn't realise how much she truly cared for her friends until she was taken and the prospects of ever seeing them again were slim to none. Some she was more friendly with than others, but even the thought of not seeing Chrysalispaw - as cantankerous as he could be - pained her heart. In the days since her return, she had been spending most of her time catching up with family and reassuring her ThunderClan relatives that she was in fact alive and well and not murdered like some rogue had claimed. The next few days though Howlpaw was keen to catch up with friends, whilst still fulfilling duties.

She had finished her assignments for the day and now waited for Termitepaw close to the hollowed log they had once sheltered in to avoid the rain. When she had seen Termitepaw earlier she had simply told her to come rather than asking, simply hoping that the black and white cat would join her. She's stood waiting a short while before the rustling of branches alerts her to the presence of another, and she realises Termitepaw is here. "Termitepaw!" She trills excitedly. "You made it!"

AND AS WE REACH THE END, WE'LL SAY :

It had been a relief, when the shelterstolen cats had returned, to see Howlpaw among them, especially after her father had declared her death to all the forest. And yet, they knew their own near-grief over the loss of this near-friend was nowhere near as potent as the family she had almost lost, so they kept their distance to give space for the teary family reunions. They'd not yet spoken to her since her return, still not much more inclined to start conversations than they were when the two first met.

But there was nervous excitement, a touch of apprehension in Termitepaw's steps as it makes its way to the log the two had hid in only a couple moons ago. Howlpaw's request was — well, a little strange. Just telling them where to meet, not actually asking or waiting for a response. That's fine, though, Termitepaw doesn't really mind. They're just glad she's back, glad to hear the excitement in her voice as she greets them. "I - I did," Termitepaw confirms, smile spreading to its own face. "Sti-ill remem-ber the way." They're decent at that at least, at navigating the forest. And they've thought a lot about that conversation they had, only days before Howlpaw's disappearance. About the tentative sense of companionship and about Howlpaw saying how much she'd miss the forest. They're glad she was able to come back to it.

It pleases Howlpaw to see the other smile. Theirs is an odd little friendship what with their differing personalities but one that Howlpaw cherishes deeply. She has a few friends in SkyClan but none are like Termitepaw. "Come in, come in!" Howlpaw urges, stepping into the log and gesturing for Termitepaw to follow.

As Howlpaw squeezes in she notes that it feels a little tighter than the last time, a sure sign that she had grown a little since she had been away. It would be a bit more of a tighter fit for the two of them in here but they would still be able to sit comfortably at least. "So tell me how have you been?" Howlpaw begins to pry once Termitepaw has settled. "Anything interesting happen while I was gone? How's your training going? Any gossip I should know about?" There was a pause and Howlpaw took a breath. "Sorry," She said sheepishly. "That was a lot of questions, huh?"
