Lady bugs awake! // Semper

[Raccoonpaw]

It was a warm summer morning, clouds drifted across the sky lazily but there was no sign of rain. The sun sat just above the tree branches and casted a warm glow upon the river territory. A young cat had picked a spot to lazily lay in where the sun peaked through willow branches, eyes lulling shut quite happily. It had been a good day thus far. They had been able to catch a few fish, go for a swim and even mess around with Buck for a while! It was rather fun and they decided a good nap was in order.

Though their little snooze was cut short by that of a little red bug crawling across their front paws. Then jumped a bit, startled, and blinked a few times with those rounded orange yes as they looked down at their paws. A little lady bug had found its way across their paws and was idly resting on their toes, making their whiskers twitched as it tickled. What should they do now? Could they move? Probably not! They didn't want to scare it away! ​

It wasn't every day that Semper came across a cat that was staring so hard at their own feet. From a distance it was almost comical, watching as raccoon went wide-eyed and then stared at their paws as if they were the most interesting thing in the world. And maybe it was bordom, or maybe the tom was just feeling particularly impulsive, but he didn't think twice in getting up and going over to join them. And it was only once he'd come closer that he realized they weren't staring at their feet, but a bug."Got yourself a friend?" he asked, tone playful as he gestured toward the small red and black bug. "I hear it's lucky if they land on you, but to be fair that could just be something queens tell their kits to stop them from freaking out over having a bug climb on them."

There was a slight startle in Raccons' posture as a voice spoke up from in front of them, and they lifted their head to spot this cream tomcat with freckles- what was his name again? He came with a tortie cat that looked so scrawny, and had been at the meeting. "Lucky huh? I could use a bit of luck if you ask me," They spoke rather sadly and looked back down at their paws. Raccoon normally was a rather optimistic and lively, but with the words of Cicadastar and Bucks' reluctance to join- they couldn't help but feel a bit saddened at the fact. Would they be lucky and Buck would join them? Or was Cicada going to lift the ban on loners and kittypets? They were not sure and it made them sigh a bit softly, moving their paw so the lady bug flutetred away. ​
