Being sore and heavily pregnant didn't make the most ideal circumstances for exploring, but the queen has never been known to let much stop her.

Rainwater clings to her pelt as she roams aimlessly, her paws have taken her past her usual hunting grounds. After dipping through a tunnel that provided passage under a thunderpath, Soot found that her eyes could see the land for miles and miles... and as she trudges up a nearby slope that line of vision only extends. Aside from the mountains that towered in the distance, Soot wasn't sure if there was a taller place to stand in this world.

A cool breeze that rolls in comforts her as she lets out a sigh of relief, her shoulders that carried hidden stress would let go and relax. It was as if this place itself had wrapped its windy paws around her and given her a loving hug. This place beckoned her further into the territory with an abrupt change in wind direction as it now pushed against her back, the blue smoke heavily obliges and begins her descent from the hill. Soot hadn't believed in love at first sight until now!

Strolling through the territory she takes in the smell of fresh rainwater, grass, and... hare? What a delicacy they were in the swamps, yet the scent of the rodent was all over the place here! She can't help but lick her lips, if only she was swift enough to hunt one... perhaps after her kits took their leave from her body.

In the far distance, her heart sinks as she distinguishes a large twoleg building... how could such a vile creature plague a place with this much beauty? It brought her immense frustration and anger, was there no land the tall parasites did not touch?! However, with a squint of her eyes, she can make out numerous creatures trotting around. They were certainly no twoleg- and if so a very odd one... Curiosity leads her closer until she can eventually clearly make them out, and as if an invisible exclamation point popped out of her head in realization she gasps. Horses. Like that one brown tabby, she had run into told her about... is this where he lived? It most certainly smelled like him! She wrinkles her nose.

Maybe I should stop in... Immediately emerald eyes narrow at herself judgingly, what? No! I don't need to waste my time dwelling in a twoleg structure. And that tom was most certainly not worth her time... his appearance wasn't anything special to run home about and he smelled as if he hardly bathed. Before she dared entice him into tailing (she did not do the chasing) after her he'd need to sit in soak in the river for at least several days. Besides, he had informed him other cats roamed the area... she very much did not want to waste her time on them either.

She wouldn't let this dung-stain of a place ruin the beauty of the hills though... Everywhere had to have its flaws... even if this one was quite large.

As she heads away from the cursed place, rain begins to lightly downpour again... and while beautiful the land she treaded didn't exactly provide much at all for cover. Her nose wrinkles as a couple of cool droplets land and her pelt twitches as she feels water begin to weigh her down again. Another flaw of the land... one she couldn't just walk away from. Little did she know this land was covered in secret spots to take shelter in... not for long though as she unknowingly approaches one. An abandoned tunnel.

Curious eyes peak in and sniff, the opening was small for most cats... but not Soot who would fit herself in with relative ease. She isn't sure how far the tunnel goes as her vision goes pitch black just practically entering! Doesn't matter too much though... she just wanted to sit and wait out the rain.

With time sitting turned to lying. Lying down turned into resting her eyes. Resting her eyes turned into sleep.
The rain continues to provide ambiance as Soot sleeps like a milk-drunk kitten. The slumbering queen may not know it yet, but this land of hills and wind was home.
