-ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ- The air was humid, warm and sticky. Dew seems to stick to every fiber it could grab hold of as the sun started to rise above the tree tops. The trees swayed with budding leaves and hibernating animals poked or prodded from their holes in the trees. The seasons changing was always their favorite thing in the world. They waited so patiently every year for Inside Time to be over and replaced with the cat door unlocking for the first time in what felt like years! Really it had been a few months, but that was besides the point. They had to be patient or otherwise their mom and dad would get upset with them. They learned that quickly after being introduce to the outside world, and the first snow fall came and they locked the door- it wasnt a pretty few days.

They shivered at the thought and it brought them back to the window, watching the squirrels crawl across the power lines and to another roof. These sky blue hues looked up at the white whisps of clouds across an expansive place. They then felt a hand run along their back and they purred softly in response to it, and it was mom! Mom was his favorite person, she gave the best hugs and treats! He watched her quietly as she walked over to the cat door, and slide up the pesky wooden piece that blocked him from going outside for the last four months.

Little white paws moved quickly from the counter by the window, and then practically bolted for the door. The little blue and white cat pushed through the plastic opening and onto the concrete steps. Their garden stretched out before them, green and square with some bushes, a few flower beds that mom had started planting days prior. The fence that surrounded it was his only barrier and he went ahead to jumping up onto the top of the white picket fence. The young cat looked around for a moment and breathed in the fresh air. The crisp morning air was harsh on the lungs but he relished in it as he had missed his friends!

Blue wondered if they’d remember him, it had been moons though so who knows and he’d been outside a few times during the winter. Though that was because he snuck out when his mom and dad hadn’t been looking, and he was locked in his cage for so many hours after that. They were so mad! Blue shook his head from the thoughts and then hopped down from the fence into his yard again. Now he could leave but he tended to not stray far as it worried his parents. Blue though got back up on the fence and sat, watching the forest once more and shifted excitedly. Now it just wait really.
