𓆱 The loss of a sibling has hit Branchkit hard, and it’s clear to see just from looking at the boy. Murky blue eyes are bloodshot from crying every night, and the bags beneath them are obvious—he hasn’t been sleeping much. Even the warmth of Needledrift and his siblings at his side aren’t enough to stave off the chill of the night air. He just wants his big sister back. But she won’t come back, and he doesn’t understand. He’s supposed to just forget about her and be happy, and he wants to be happy with Bonepaw and Shadepaw and Bloodpaw watching over him. But the trio of older siblings just… isn’t the same.
It’s an early morning when he wanders outside the nursery and into the clan’s camp. The first clanmate he sees is a kind one. Caterpillarfuzz has been around for as long as he can remember, so Branchkit doesn’t hesitate to trot right over to her. She’s a warrior now—maybe she’ll know whether his sister will be back. "Catty… pillar," he murmurs, reaching out to trap the older ShadowClanner on the lwg with his own little white paw. "Do you think Snowypaw will ever come back?" As he speaks, his eyes well with tears. Faintly, the boy is glad that she can’t see him crying again. He’s been crying a lot lately. He just wants to be happy again, but… his favorite big sister is gone, and the only cats who know what happened to her won’t tell him until he’s older.
