It would take all of Yewberry's social energy to make it through this gathering. They made him incredibly nervous with all these cats around, and yet, he enjoyed them at the same time. He didn't need to converse to have a good time. Just being here was good enough, as if he fed off of everyone elses energy.

Sunset eyes looked up at the leaders on the rock. He only really had opinions of Sootstar and Pitchstar, having actually met them. Cicadastar seemed nice enough, he thought. Emberstar always had a smile, and Blazestar.... He wasn't quite sure. He seemed friendly, though.

He looked up to Sootstar, wishing he had as much confidence and tact as she did. She didn't shiver with anxiety, like he did. Always knew what to do or say. Plus, he had to admit, she was pretty.

Pitchstar......

............

He was sure he was a nice guy behind the unhinged anger. But Yewberry was afraid of him and would avoid him if possible.

He sighed and looked around the clearing at the cats around him. Some familiar and some not. He had half a mind to go bother Smokethroat again. He looked like fun. That wasn't the case tonight, however, as a red coat that shone in the moonlight caught his eye. It was familiar.

Could it.....be?

He rose to his feet and padded over to the Molly who sat with the Skyclan cats. Sure, he was getting looks that made him want to hide in a hole. But he had to know....

"A....Amanita.....?"

His voice was soft, questioning and nervous. What if he was wrong? He would look like a fool.

The molly's ears pointed and her head turned, leaving no doubt in his mind that.....This was indeed his rescuer, his mother. Not biologically, but still his mother.

Amanita gasps in surprise, nearly tripping over herself as she closed the short distance between them.

"Little Sprout, oh....You've grown...!" Amanita purred as she nuzzled Yewberry, licking his head. She had last seen him at half the size...

Yewberry struggled to hold back tears, but to no avail. He pressed his face into her chest fur. "M-mom...." He choked. "I thought you burned...!"

"I thought you burned, my darling!"

" Where have you been?"

"I went back to travelling.... Eventually I looped back around and ended up back here." Amanita explained, placing a foreleg around Yewberry.

Yewberry trembled. He had not felt such comfort, such affection, in a long time. He couldn't describe how he felt. So many emotions at once was overwhelming.

"I....I'm part of Windclan now." Yewberry said. " I've learned how to live all on my own..."

"I'm so proud of you... You've come such a long way from the little kit I found in the snow, my little Sprout..."

Sprout....That was his name, wasn't it. It had been so long.......

"I have...."

"I want you to know.....That even if our clans are at odds.....I still love you, okay?" Amanita said. She knew how the others felt about Windclan. At first, she didn't care. But now .... The thought of fighting Yewberry made her sick.

"I still love you too, mom." Yewberry replied. He had the same feeling....He didn't want to fight his mother....

But only time would tell if they would have to.
