〕Lionpaw needed... something. He was not as adventurous as Hollypaw, nor could he play pretend as convincingly as Candorpaw. His littermates' bright and colorful personalities made them stand out, made them... popular. Likeable. Like most youths, Lionpaw was susceptible to feelings of insecurity, but he mostly just wanted to feel competent in the eyes of his best friends. He doesn't think he'd ever be as outgoing or imaginative as his siblings, but maybe he could be a skilled hunter instead.

Silky, cream and chocolate tufted fur ripples in the wind like a seabound flag, growing limbs fully extended in front and back of the determined hunter. Despite them trying with all their might, their form is not too effective for the catch they are trying to make, which ends up costing them a mouse. The gray-furred critter skitters into the crevices of the Rockpile, dooming Lionpaw to slide empty-pawed across the gritty surface. Like a clumsy newborn deer, their legs flail out from under them and they tumble right off of the rock, sending them thudding onto the ground below. "Oof-" The torbie point emits, thick pelt quickly collecting debris and dust from landing on their side. This had easily been the largest fall Lionpaw had taken to date and, while he hadn't necessarily hurt himself, he was still needing to gather his breath.

He sits up on his haunches, giving a shake of his pelt and bowing his head. "Mousedung," The apprentice curses hushedly, knowing better than to swear loudly for the whole clan to hear, though Lionpaw cannot mask the disappointment that clings to their features. He would never be as good of a warrior as Blazestar was if he couldn't even manage to catch a mouse!

Spicepaw had never known Blazestar - he quickly became a part of mythos for her, for his legacy still walked and breathed like she. Tales of his heroics and bravery were lifeblood to his founding Clan, and even Spicepaw cannot help but feel a sense of sorrow when she thinks of the deceased. But... if StarClan is real and true, then maybe there is no true sadness to be had. There should be comfort, she thinks, to those who firmly believe the stars as their ancestors. Blazestar could very well be watching his children and lineage walking earthside... though, given Lionpaw's wipeout, maybe knowing his father is watching is less of a godsend and more of a terror.

"It took me a bit to get my footing," Spicepaw tries to console the younger apprentice, her smile quirking though she tucks her paws too-close to her body. "Your mentor... uh..." Who was it? Drowsynose? No... the other one. The new parade of warriors almost all looked the same to her frantic and clouded mind. "Crowsight? He should have tips on how to pounce," she felt weird, as a resident daylighter, to try and show the younger few how she does it. While successful, Spicepaw knows her techniques are unlike those around her. Selftaught from only a handful of moons old, the apprentice struggles to be rid of old habits.
