*✿❀○❀✿* In retrospect, she should have taken her time with her other responsibilities; being told to weave nests and mend gaps in den walls was nothing new to her. In an effort to get back into routine, she had spent the majority of her time at camp, so she might have become complacent.

Then Bella was told that she'd be asked to navigate the branches of pine trees on a hunting trip. She was shocked she couldn't remember the last time she hunted anything! She paced around camp, waiting for her mentor, before her nervous energy ran out.

Bella sat alongside a few others; if it weren't for her fragmented mind, it would have been a beautiful day for sunbathing and relaxing. From her ears constantly shifting trying to catch her name being called to the tip of her tail bouncing, the apprentice could not be still. Clearly a disturbance of the peace and Bella could feel the stares. She quickly apologized to the cat next to her.

"Sorry hon, for being a bother! It's just my nerves, it's been so long since I've been asked to go hunting. And it's not like I was a particularly great hunter before I left." She wanted to stop speaking, compose herself, talk with dignity, and pose, but the words kept tumbling out. "I don't want to go out there and embarrass myself. Do you think I should just ask to wait until I'm better suited?"

a torn, tufted ear would angle itself towards the source of the apologetic ramble, flicking over every other word as a sign of acknowledgement before being followed by a swing of a broad cranium where dual-toned optics would meet the anxious pools of green. beechdapple recalls not too long ago that this apprentice used to go by peachpaw and if she mulled over that fact for a bit could maybe scrounge up a memory or two about the chimera but everything comes up fuzzy, perhaps with more interactions will it come flooding back. for now, the senior warrior offers bella a warm smile and a bit of a small chuckle before speaking. "well, what better time to practice those skills than right now? sure, there's a chance you might not catch anything but as long as you keep practicing you're sure to see improvements." a fluffy, dappled tail would flick back and forth. "you can't be letting the fear of failing or embarassment hold you back or else you'll just be putting yourself into a hole." beechdapple mews softly, understanding how nerve-wracking it must be to get back into the swing of things after being away for so long. "if you want i could come with you and give you some tips, maybe you'll feel a little less nervous then? "
