Agatepaw's starting to realize something, as those bad days become more frequent. She isn't good at much of anything. It isn't as though her mentor's cruel, but... well... She's never gotten any ounce of praise or anything. Just an 'okay'. No 'good job' or anything. And it frustrates her beyond belief, and well... she's certain Stonepaw's doing much better than her, is probably much happier than her in his own pelt.

The more she thinks about it, the more she wonders if he'd be better off without her. Mismatched eyes stare at he paws, and Agatepaw wants nothing more than to shut everything out, the sounds of camp just a little too much. Her stomach growls, but she's not hungry enough to justify eating, even though she'd tried pushing her limits today. And what did that do for her? Nothing. It just made her ever more aware of how much of a failure she was.

"I have my whole life ahead of me," she murmurs softly, flattening her ears. But she's not happy with her own being. Not happy at all really. How can her life be ahead of her when everything feels like it's at a standstill?

"Speech"

STEP FROM THE DARK TO THE LIGHT

"That you do." Mirepurr's agreement comes from somewhere behind Agatepaw. It is always an odd thing to see her idle; an energetic personality rarely warrants the relative calmness that settles over her... if it can be called such. Mirepurr regards her split-splotched face with curiosity, keeping the worst of it at bay. It would do them no good to scare her off by getting too up and about.

A plump toad is deposited between her paws. "And keeping that in mind, you should definitely eat when you're hungry. Would you like to share this with me?" The invitation is open-ended — should any other Clanmates creep near, Mirepurr would be hard-pressed to turn them down. Agatepaw is the focus primarily, though; the rumble that betrays her appetite had been loud enough to summon them in one fell swoop. The fresh-kill pile is not empty, and judging by the time of day, Mirepurr is confident that elders and queens have already eaten. There is no reason for Agatepaw's belly to stay empty.

Stonepaw, though ordinarily not very empathetic, held a soft spot for his sister. She was his partner in crime. (Willing or not.) What kind of brother would he be without going to at least try to comfort her? The lilac tom came from seemingly nowhere, his silent paws becoming more and more of an advantage every day. With a side-long glance at Mirepurr, he mewed, "Yeah, you do. Who else am I gonna beat ThunderClan in battle with?"

The inevitability of life was something that crossed the mind of all cats at some point, at least, that was what she had gathered listening to Smogstar. You were born, you trained, you sometimes became leader, you died. Bloodpaw didn't want to reach that last part anytime soon. She had felt close to it when Granitepelt attacked her and Singepaw, even when she'd felt nothing but anger, some of that anger had been directed because she wanted to keep living and keep surviving. Growing up and growing old were milestones that were exciting to the cinnamon tabby because it meant that she wasn't dead, and seeing Agatepaw murmur similar sentiments with an air of melancholy caused her to do a double take towards the chimera.

Though quiet, it'd been enough for her one good ear to hear it and Mirepurr and Stonepaw could say the same. Hopping after the two until she'd reached their sides, the older apprentice flashed a grin towards Agatepaw. "Stars yeah, it's proper badass innit?" She had seen life's downsides and decided she wanted nothing to do with them. "There's so much stuff to do, it's great. When you're all grown up, what do you think you're gonna do first? Start a family? Become like... the clan's greatest hunter? If you wanna do it, you can go do it. Life's cool like that." But, for now, it seemed as if all the other was going to do was eat a meal, either by her own choosing or by Mirepurr's insistence.
