When Agatekit wakes up that morning, she doesn't feel... right. She doesn't want to play, doesn't want to look for something to take... She just doesn't want to anything, not even be.
Stonekit would never feel this way, would he? Stonekit would just persevere and go about things as normal, or come up with a plan to get rid of the feelings. But no matter how much Agatekit wants to, she isn't like Stonekit. Not at all. And the thought of that makes her feel worse.
"Do you not feel well today?" Mudfern asks, gently licking the fur atop her head. "Should I take you to see Starlingheart?"
"I feel fine," she lies, "Just don't wanna... play today."
Mudfern frowns at her, a look of worry in her gentle gaze as she looks at her daughter. "But you love to play..." The chocolate-furred molly wraps her tail around her, and Agatekit wants nothing more to just squirm away, to be left alone to sit with the thoughts that were running rampant in her head. "...Maybe you should go sit outside the nursery for a little bit. It might make you feel better."
The cinnamon and black kit lets out a sigh, flattening her ears and forcing herself to her paws. "Okay..." she mutters, slowly making her way to the entrance of the nursery and settling down just outside. She imagines it's a strange sight - the energetic, playful kitten who always follows her brother into mischief sitting solemnly outside the nursery, carrying the burden of heavy thoughts and a desire to just... not. And yet she imagines that some might be happy to see her like this, and she feels even worse.
Agatekit lets out a sigh, burying her face into her paws. Today is a bad day.
