DISAPPOINTMENT TAKES US BY SURPRISE

Candy corn had been taken from her mother, and she hates it. She was taken by those things that mama called twolegs, and they were as ugly as can be! She still remembers it, mama screaming to run but she had wanted to protect her, bit and clawed as much as she could but it was no use, she had been picked up by an ugly paw and held by the scruff while mama was taken by the other one. By the time she had been put down her throat was hoarse and dry, placed in a metal cage, cold and unforgiving. She had cowered in the corner for a long time, until another ugly paw reaches to grab her out. They place her on a floor and immediately she goes to hide under a tall square looking thing. Candy corn doesn't want anything to do with these weirdos, she'd never forgive them! How dare they, she was happy with mama, she didn't know if she'd ever see her again and for the first time since she had been taken she broke down in to tears.

She doesn't know how many moonrises its been since she had hid under here. Little things of weird pellets had been slid towards her by the ugly paws, smelled appetizing but looked disgusting. Shes grown weak, she doesn't want to eat but the hunger pang in her stomach was too much to ignore. If she wanted to ever find mama again, she'd have to stay alive. Reluctantly, Candy bent her head down and ate the stupid things with ever growing hatred. She jumps and cowers as she hears the same metal clang echo through the den, but only comes to sniff at the weird cup looking thing that had been pushed towards her. Water, it was water, and parched she drank from it. Candy curls up in a ball not long after, facing away from the odd pellets and cup and she begins to weep.

The next couple sunrises were painfully long and her joints began to hurt from the lack of exercise she was getting. Shes curled up, seething with rage before her head shoots up at the smell of fresh, crisp air. Cautiously she emerges from the hiding place, disregarding the new pellets that had been kicked under and eyes land on her escape. A weird triangle, no longer blocked off, its open to the world and Candy takes a running jump, leaping straight through and crashing in to a bush below. She rises, shakes her pelt out, excitement- she was free, mama had been right, everything would be okay.

I'm coming for you, mama! The thought is determined as tiny kitten paws pad far, far away from the twoleg den. No longer would Candy be confined by her captors.
