camp MORGEN IS NIET BELOOFD ✧ . frog bones

✧ . It is in such means that he found his beloved Friend as a kit. At the outskirts of camp, remnants of a being that once was hardly covered in soil. A poor burial of eaten prey, a life hardly mourned. Eerienight stands here now as a warrior, a frown at the shoddy attempt to discard one of many frogs they’ve killed for sustenance pulling at the dark tom’s face.

Hm.

Though hardly a curio in their — albeit waning — surplus, the skeleton is odd-shaped. Small, long-toed and fragile looking, it’s presence is enough to call for Eerienight to pause and observe, but nothing more than that for the frog doesn’t speak to him as Friend had in his youth. The warrior will not be collecting a companion for the bird skull that sits in his nest today, though he shares no disappointment in such. Perhaps it speaks to another instead.

Mirepurr never fails to honor the fourth code; it makes perfect sense to send a silent prayer up to StarClan in gratitude when they catch something, making them frown every now and then at the prospect of this law not being in place from day one. Even now, when the abundance of said prey is ultimately giving them more trouble... well, food is still food, and they don't wish to anger the starry ancestors any more than necessary.

When they almost stumble into Eerenight and find what his point of interest is, Mirepurr has to stifle a gasp. Someone either did a terrible job at covering their last meal, or did not even bother. Were they really becoming this wasteful?

"We should probably get rid of it," they suggest, voice kept low and unassuming as to not anger Eerienight. Is he looking at it in wonder? Does he like it? Mirepurr can't quite tell, and although they'd prefer not to scatter skeletons in their camp, they don't wish to interrupt a strange but meaningful moment.

...though the possibility of bones decorating ShadowClan's camp would be a sure way to send other Clans' unruly kits to sleep.

[ ༻❄༺ ] This was an interesting sight to come across indeed, and Mirepurr suggestion to get rid of it made a soft frown peer on his lips as he began to slowly nudge one of the bones into his direction, tail swishing a bit while the thought to give it to Bonepaw crossed his mine. He was sure the other wouldn't mind a gift such as this since it was his namesake after all.

"I'm taking a bit of it" he stated calmly before sweeping the best piece he could in his direction before picking it up between his teeth being delicate about this. Yellow gaze on the rest of the bones, wondering what predator had taken out this poor creature, either way it left a perfect gift in its wake and they couldn't wait to give Bonepaw the found bones. This was also a hint that the frog population might be finally dying down. Good, they were getting very troubling in the first place, it was only right they finally decreased in numbers. He just hopes they didn't get another explosion of frogs in the near future.

Gigglekit knew that some of her Clanmates kept or had an interest in bones, but she'd never really understood why. She had just assumed that everyone had their own hobbies that made them happy, so who was she to criticize them for something that, although a bit morbid, was otherwise harmless? It wasn't as if her Clanmates were going out of their way to kill without cause just to get some bones.

"Why'ya takin' it for?" Gigglekit asked, looking between Eerienight, who looked rather enraptured with the skeleton that was on the ground before them, and Snowpaw, who had delicately picked up one of the bones that was laid out. Maybe she didn't know the reasons right now, but everything could be made a learning experience! She'd learned that from interacting with her Clanmates over her few moons. Maybe there was a special reason that Snowpaw was keeping the bone that she didn't know about.
