camp MOVE YOUR BODY OVER ✧ expanding warriors' den

Beetleback had asked her about expanding the warriors' den some time ago, a plan that had been stunted by heavy rain and fox-injuries, but Orangestar finally feels well enough that she can, at least, instruct. The two stand inside the warriors' den as sunhigh approaches, Orangestar casting a brief glance at the space her nest had once occupied as they pass the entrance (there's tousled moss there now, the sign of a warrior taking up residence in the space), but it's not long before she moves towards the back wall of bramble and fern to investigate.

"Should we try to expand the den further into the bramble wall or expand further into camp?" Orangestar rasps, turning her shoulders so that she can face Beetleback without aggravating the healing injuries to her neck.

To say that Orangestar actually took him up on his suggestion was shocking was an understatement. Considering the tom had little power compared to the council, but he supposes it is more likely a neccesity for Orangestar. In many ways this was a good sign for the clan. After all, they had many moons filled with countless losses. The influx of new warriors was a sign. A sign that the clan was flourishing.

"That's a good question... Hmm..." A blue paw is brought to his chin, as he scans the den. "I'm more in favor of expanding further into the bramble, but with the rate of new warriors we're having, I'd say expand further into camp." The last thing we want is to keep going further and further back to the point where the warriors barely have a wall so to speak. And if we move further into camp, It will be safer in the long run too, guess the only thing to complain about would be the possible noise. But everyone has more space in the back as a result.

While he's certain some warriors will loathe the decision to expand further into camp compared to expanding further into the bramble, he's also certain that the warriors will be pleased about having more leg room. With the weather getting warmer, all the warriors cramped in once space would not bode well."If we expand further into camp, in cases of emergency, warriors are able to respond quicker. If we expand further into the bramble wall we'll be moving farther from camp and the warriors in the back won't be able to respond as quickly if we didn't just shove 'em in the front." All he can hope is that his reasoning is making sense to the leader, but ultimately it is her decision to make. All he can do is wait for the order before working alongside other warriors to expand their den.

MY WORLDS ON FIRE, HOW 'BOUT YOURS?
THAT'S THE WAY I LIKE IT AND I NEVER GET BORED."

To be frank, Johnnyflame was rather pleased that the warriors den was being expanded on perhaps a little selfishly. He didn't sleep there most nights due to his obligations to his twolegs (which included returning at night to spend time with them), but he'd been growing increasingly restless that the nest he kept there was going to be taken up by someone else. It'd led to the tomcat more frequently lounging and rolling in the thing to mark it with his scent, making sure to advertise that it was already taken even if the cat it belonged to wasn't using it every night.

Did he feel bad about it? A little. Like he said, he knew it was a selfish thing to do, but...

His nest had been a gift, hadn't it? In it's own way, even if he was pretty sure Silversmoke had meant it as a joke to keep Johnny from trying to steal his fur during the colder months.

"Ah, you guys are expanding the warriors den? Count me in if you need another set of paws; I'm tired of havin' to guard my nest from the newbies." offered the bobtail with a good natured chuckled, though in reality he was only half joking- he really didn't was to walk in to camp to find that his spot in the warriors den was gone.

The expansion of the warrior's den had been spoken of for a while now. It had always been a little crowded, but it became glaringly obvious after the sheer number of new warriors who now made their home there. "Ah, we're finally expanding the warrior's den?" Howlfire mewed, as she approached. She stood close to Johnnyflame, listening to the discussion between Orangestar and Beetleback. It seemed the main question was where and how they would expand - did they expand back into the bramble wall or further into camp. Beetleback had good reasonings for both options, though Howlfire would admit she was less keen on the idea of expanding into camp. "I personally prefer the idea of expanding further into the bramble wall," Howlfire mewed.

✧ .Oh good! “ Greeneyes chirps at the group as he enters the warrior den. He’d sought a moment of rest in what he’d hoped would be a near empty den upon his arrival, but he pushes away any biting exhaustion as he approaches the lot of them, a snow-masked face dipping in greeting to them. “ So we’re finally getting a remodel then?

It’s about time they got a little more space in here! He stands beside Johnnyflame and Howlfire, listening to Beetleback’s reasoning and preparing to help where needed. Expanding further into the bramble makes sense to him, for the most part. It would take up less space that way. But, the mention of quicker response leaves the lead warrior torn — it might be safer that way. And, if they keep going back, there will soon be no wall to build off of.

Hm. Maybe a little bit both ways? “ he suggests, head tilting to the side as he looks to Orangestar, “ That way we don’t run out of wall space one way and don’t take up too much of the camp the other? “

With bodies piling on top of each other within the warrior's den, greenleaf would have been utterly miserable without an expansion.... but it could have waited. There was instability within SkyClan's ranks that to Silversmoke meant they needed to huddle together like owlets awaiting the end of a storm, rather than making bold quality-of-life changes for someone who should be resting to oversee. He looked towards Orangestar with eyes squinted in suspicion, the corners of his mouth pulled uncomfortably to their sides as if preparing to say something about the injured leader's state, stopped only by the understanding that he was her Lead Warrior, not her Medicine Cat. Wordlessly, he turned his head to the outer camp as the others offered their suggestions, subconsciously falling in line next to Johnnyflame as he searched for any sign of Fireflypaw. If anyone could convince Orangestar to get some rest and let her council handle it, it would be him (or perhaps Slate, though the thought was so deeply suppressed that all he felt was the nagging of attempting to recover a forgotten idea). When Blazestar's son didn't make an appearance before the conversation stopped, the spotted tabby's attention relented towards the matter-at-paw.

I'm tired of having to guard my nest from the newbies, he recognised the voice of Johnnyflame and felt his ears grow warm - surely the chimera wasn't on about his gift, that poorly put together nest was better served as kindling for WindClan's fire than something worthy of sleeping on. "It'll get stolen anyways if you don't use it," he huffed to the chimera, exasperated moreso than annoyed. "Move it next to mine, I can keep it safe," he mewed matter-of-factly, oblivious to how it sounded. Logic dictated it was a sensible conclusion, though privileged enough to get a warmer space within the den, few were particularly interested in sleeping close to the large tom owing to his surly view on personal space. A brow raised as he turned his attention towards the others before he cleared his throat; there were more important things to worry about than his friend's nest. "If we expand outwards, it means the warriors will have less space in the camp for the apprentices to 'hang out', as they say - and I'd rather keep an eye on them here than have to worry about our future sneaking out of the camp to find somewhere to play. Hollow out the bramble wall first, if we need to, we can always expand further into camp later."

The sun's light was pleasant on the molly's thin coat. It had only become uncomfortable during the night, where she had considered simply sleeping in the trees as opposed to the warrior's den. Sighing slightly, the molly approaches the group, her back aching as she eyes Orangestar's wounds. She looked... untouched. Truly above the rest of the clan thanks to Star Clan's magic. Her mind went to Twitchbolt's fuzzy forum from that night. The claws. The yowling. And here her leader was, back to life as usual. Sorrelsong was spared the same brave wounds as Slate and the others simply because of cowardice. Orangestar had been brave and looked fine. Awe bubbled in her, only for her brows to furrow slightly in response to Silversmoke.
Her eyes flick towards the silver tom and the chimera he was talking to. Keep him safe, hmm?
Wouldn't that make it hotter for Silversmoke? OH.
A smile plays on her lips. Oh~ Wait, theres no way, right? She hadn't seen this sort of behavior from either tom before - not that she really interacted much with either of them. Maybe she was being persumptious. Besides - once Flora passed her assessment Sorrelsong knew she would offer the same as Silversmoke - but that was purely as a friend. Maybe she was just reading to much into things.
"I agree, the apprentices will probably venture beyond the camp walls anyways, but building more into camp would just encourage them. We should make sure to reinforce the walls if we do build into the bramble - if we don't it might be a bit too thin to protect us from any surprises."

❀‿ As one of the bodies amongst the heaping pile of new warriors taking up space, and as one previously notorious "apprentice that wanted to hang out", Lupinesong feels sheepish offering her opinion on the den reconstruction. So, her voice is tentative even as she agrees with those before her, "Uhmm, yeah I think building into the wall first might work well."

She peeks from behind the gathered crowd to take a look at the bramble and fern wall, tail twitching behind her, "We might be able to add more reinforcements to to outer side of the wall, too? If that helps..."

She considered suggesting that they add another entrance to the den to help with airflow and to possibly allow warriors to enter and exit the den more quickly, but she had already suggested something, and a whole other entrance might've been a drastic enough idea that she could imagine herself getting laughed out of the den for. So she just looked around and nodded along as everyone presented their ideas. Lupinesong still felt like an apprentice, she wondered if it would go away anytime soon.
