SO YOUNG, YET SO BROKEN

His face was the same as always, irritated looking and like he would rather be doing anything else but this. However, in reality, Leafshade was excited, which was a weird feeling for the lithe tom. He was leading his very first apprentice out of camp and his paws were practically buzzing with all the ideas he had for their training.

Should they try sparring first? Or a tour of the territory? Or maybe even hunting skills! Leafshade looked back over his shoulder at Shallowpaw behind him and with a light lash of his tail he would finally speak, "Alright, starting today you're my apprentice. I have patience, but not for messing around. Becoming a good warrior of Thunderclan is important for one reason." He would stop walking and look to Shallowpaw as he let the tom walk up to his side, "Because your family is here. No matter what you hear cats say; every Thunderclanner is family. You must be ready to defend them as they are all training to defend you."

He would look over to his apprentice, seeming to look him over for a moment before nodding, "Are you ready to start training then?"

This was it. His first day as an official apprentice of this clan. One step closer to reaching his goal. Just like Leafshade there was nothing that revealed any emotions on his features. But on the inside he was in fact excited. This was a big deal for him. Shallowpaw would follow his mentor obidently who didn't seem to be special excited about this like he did but he wouldn't let that get in his way. Shallowpaw could endure a lot for the sake of getting where he wanted to be. His mentor started talking, and he would stay focused as he listened to the golden rule this tom had when it come to become a warrior.

Shallowpaw would stop beside them after he had caught up to them, and he would carefully think over the words this tom just had shared. To become a great warrior he had to protect all of the cats who lived here no matter their differences. To defend them all equally. Everyone here was his family now. Family. Shallowpaw knew little about what a family was supposed to be like. His experience was that family not cared about each other but this tom right here said otherwise. He could work with that. Shallowpaw could treat everyone here on equal terms. " I understand." he would confirm as he glanced up at his mentor, giving a short nod of his head to let them know he was ready. Whatever Leafshade had to throw at him he would practise and learn, to overcome any obstacle to reach for his goal. He would become a warrior Sunnyday could be proud over.
