private MY MAN IS A STAGNENT WATER ☾ Tigerkit

-ˋˏ ༻☾༺ ˎˊ-

The concept of fun feels too far for Thrashkit to reach some days, any attempt that he attempts to take to achieve that goal of whole hearted fun seems to fall short. While she stretches out with claws outstreched, hungry for a mere scrap of joy only to fall short. The other kits of ThunderClan seem to experience without much thought, being scared and angry all the time is easier at least when he was biting everyone who crossed her path it seemed simpler. She wants to fit in, less for the sake of the clan and more to appease the idea of being trusted enough to learn. For that ultimate goal of being able to live by themself- and their littermates of course. So how can he fit in if he's not having fun like everyone else? The mossball is the closest she's gotten to it, it's less fun and more an outlet, something to bat and claw at without getting in trouble. He can't look at leaf-piles without feeling guilty, so that ruled that seasonal activity out.

He considers asking someone about it, though there are few thunderclanners that she would be willing to speak to at all, much less about the concept of fun. Tail whips in frustration until out of the corner of her eye she spots Tigerkit, one of the quieter ones from Nightbirds litter. While out of the kits in the nursery she likes her brood the most the feral child finds some level of solace in interacting with the quieter ones. It's ears don't hurt as much then, even if any social interaction makes their skin crawl underneath the shelter of thick fur.

"Tigerkit... What are you doing?" he speaks in a hushed whisper, urgency in a tone where the subject holds none. Their tone and cadence has always been inconsistent, rushing between fast and slow, a weird harmony of speech but one that Thrashkit has claimed to be his own. Maybe she knows what it means to have fun? Even if not maybe attempting to forge a bond here could lead a path to gaining that trust. "Is this.. fun for you?" He tilts his head examining his den mate, it's a blank expression but the fact that he was paying attention at all meant a good thing by his standards.

"What is fun for you? I don't... Think I know how to have it" she doesn't know if maybe she should sound ashamed of this fact? It's carefully worded, sentence strung as if he's thinking really hard about what to say. While it loathes the concept of a vulnerability like this there is hope that maybe it will make him more endearing to speak to

She hadn't really thought she was doing anything that cool or that fun... Tigerkit is sitting in a quiet corner of the nursery, plucking at the loose end sticking out from a nest. She probably— definitely shouldn't be doing it... but it was less annoying then her siblings usually were, wasn't it? She could keep herself from unraveling the whole thing, and... and she might even put it all back into place when she does it. Maybe she'd be the kit-that-always-tidys-up-after-herself, or the very-good-nest-builder kit. Everyone would be impressed with her then. She's not even an apprentice yet... but then, would it be less impressive when she is an apprentice, and now everyone can make nests? She almost wishes she could be a kit forever... Things change too much in ThunderClan. They change way too much.

Thrashkit's talking to her now, talking both as if it was a secret and the most important thing in the world... What are you doing? " Um... " Well... the real answer is boring. Very boring. Ears flicking anxiously atop her head, the tabby she-kit turns to her denmate. Is this fun for you? It'd be very lame if she said yes, right? Plus- Plus that'd be a lie. It's not very fun, but she's not very sure what else to do. Maybe she should be using this chance to make friends, instead. ...Maybe she could make friends right now?

It kind of sounded less like Thrashkit was making fun of her, and more like they really wanted to know now. Tigerkit blinks at him. Her ears flatten, then perk again. " Um, well I don't- don't really like kit games. My brothers and sisters... they always cheat. Do they do that to you too? " She's trying to be empathetic... or something, she thinks? " But I do- I do lots of fun things without them. My fun things are secret, but um... if you're my friend, maybe I'll tell you... " she makes her offer politely, with shuffling paws, she thinks.

He resembles an eclipse in the way that his larger than average black pelt encompasses the space beside Tigerkit. Looming over her as she plucks at a nest, their eyes burn in intensity with an unseen curiosity. She says that she doesn't like kit games, there's a nod of approval from it as if it really had any say on what she can and can't enjoy. It's more of a quiet appreciation, finding others outside of his littermates who don't enjoy the games of the nursery. She tried to, it only got Yippingkit hurt. Mossball was okay though but he wasn't willing to admit that out loud. "I don't like kit games either" they grunt softly, still scorned by that leaf pile. Her siblings... He has to admit he doesn't pay attention to if they cheat or not.

"Maybe.. how do they cheat?" It would do him some good to have an understanding of how to cheat. Not that she has any plans on doing that in the future since nice and trustworthy cats don't cheat. She concedes that it would be good to know. This is how a conversation works, right? How one makes friends? Asking questions then answering them, she tries to break it down to it's most analytical sense. Not the most enjoyable way to view life but if he can view it like this then it makes sense, the world is cruel in the sense of how it gives and takes.

Tigerkit continues speaking, a tufted ear flicks curiously at the proposition. Secrets can be powerful, right? All the interesting cats have secrets, to know one is a sign of trust. There's a small exhale, to try and not grab onto the smallest instance of trust with claws unsheathed in a greedy hunger. "I want to... be your friend" they declare it with another nod, eye line shifting to his too big paws with his too many toes instead of at Tigerkit. What if this is a test? And I'm failing? It's a troubling thought, paranoia and suspicion are easy diseases to fester within him.

"I... want to know your fun things" with great hesistance he decides to look up at the tabby curiously. Staring at her mismatched gaze, trying to gleam anything that indicated that she had succesfully achieved the great feat of friendship. This is a give and take, right? "I can tell you my fun things too... If we're friends" he tacts on the last part quickly, ensuring that this is a mutual agreement.

She's happy that Thrashkit doesn't find her a weird kit for not liking kit games. They even agree with her. That's cool. Tigerkit perks up a little. They'd seemed a little scary at first... but maybe they were okay. " They're all- They're all really loud. They talk over me, " she explains. Not like Thrashkit. Thrashkit whispered and rumbled, and it was a little scary, but at least Tigerkit could hear herself. " They all talk over me. And they bully me... Stormkit's always bumping into me, n' Bayingkit's mean. " They would never listen to her like this. Or ask her questions like this. Nice questions. She likes Thrashkit way better than them both, she decides. Dark ears shift atop her head. " Don't tell them I said so, please. " Maybe she shouldn't have said anything before Thrashkit agreed to be her friend...

Luckily for her, Thrashkit will be her friend. Wants to be, even. Her eyes are bright, and she allows herself a small, kittish mewl of victory, " Yay! " He's not looking at her when he says it, though... Instead, they're looking at their toes. Tigerkit looks at them too, wondering what's so important... She notices that he has lots of them, like Coltkit and Yippingkit. Did every other kit have lots of toes? Maybe Tigerkit would be special then, for having the right amount... but then, she has lots of right-amount-toed brothers and sisters too... It's annoying.

Politely, she's about to remind her new friend that you should look at cats when they're talking to you, but she seems to remember by herself, thankfully, and Tigerkit brightens visibly when she does. She wants to know her fun things! That's really good. ...Tigerkit just has to think of fun things. " Yes! We are friends, " she assures him. " We'll share things like friends. "

...What's something fun? Something that's not a kit game? " I actually play apprentice games, " she tells them. " I- I do. I play them when no one's looking... The other kits wouldn't get it. " Yes, that sounded very fun...

"Have you tried.... To bite them?" It's a sincere question, something that he believes would resolve the issues that Tigerkit is having with her siblings. Violence should be the answer, it's just the way that nature works. He's convinced of it at least, with a shuffle of his paws and a flick of his tail he gives one curt nod. "They won't bully you then" or maybe she could just tell them to stop? The thought doesn't cross her mind truthfully, quite content in a bite being the way to solve any major issue ones faced with.

He blinks in surprise, once again not having enough forethought to even consider telling them about what she said. Any ferociousness comes from survival, gossiping like that is just standard cunning. One that he is not skilled in at such a young age and not one that he expresses any interest towards. Maybe Tigerkit was that thoughtful? Or that cunning? As he looks at her he can only really see a kit, a meek one at that. When not keeping to herself she was after someones heels, wherever it be an adult or someone younger. This just made her trustworthy, no one seemed to tell Tigerkit to go away, everyone had time for her and that was something she both liked and admired.

An ebony face scrunches in confusion at the fact that Tigerkit seems to like them enough to brighten up when it looks at her. It's weird, she's weird. But a good weird, they think? There's an awkward smile on his maw, cracked and jagged feeling. It hurts so he drops is quickly, they aren't one to smile but it felt somewhat natural to do as a result for making a friend happy.

"I would like... that. To be friends" it nods once more, satisfied in the company of the she-kit. Sharing things like friends... It isn't sure what that actually means but the tabby looked confident enough when saying it so he just nods in agreement. There's a glimmer of interest behind warm hued eyes at the mention of apprentice games, that's a thing that they're going to have to learn. Maybe apprentice games are actually fun? No thorns get stuck in paws at apprentice games, probably.

Thrashkit dwells on what this could possibly mean before speaking. "What's... An apprentice game?" He mrrows in what one could assume was a first real attempt at sincere curiosity. "Could we play?" He wanted to have fun, it looked like everyone else was happy when they experienced a game they like. It's a game that other kits wouldn't get, does that mean that they would get it or is Tigerkit assuming that she wouldn't get it too.

" Um... " Well, no, she hasn't... but that's because biting is bad, isn't it? Didn't Thrashkit know that? " No. Biting's mean, I think, " she says this as if that may be up for debate, and maybe it is... She doesn't know everything like Nightbird and Twilightkit do. " You're supposed to bite monsters and evil cats only, I think. Bayingkit bites, and she's a bully. Don't tell her I said that, please. " Does Thrashkit bite? Hopefully she didn't just insult her first friend... She made them smile and that's nice. Tigerkit likes it. She likes it a lot. " You're not a bully, though. Um, maybe you could bite my bullies for me? " she wonders aloud.

" Um... No, you shouldn't do that. Don't actually. " She'd get in trouble if Nightbird found out she told him that, she thinks. " ...Would you though? " Just hypothetically... were they good enough friends for that, yet? It'd be really cool if she had someone that bites cats that are mean to her or talk over her... She'd like it a lot, but that's not allowed, probably... Maybe if she got a best friend, it'd be allowed. Or like, a super special someone cat like Nightbird and Raccoonstripe were?

She's gonna have to think about it later, cause now Thrashkit was asking her about an apprentice game, and Tigerkit hadn't really thought that far ahead... Her ears twitch. " Um... It... It's really... tough, " she tells him. Her eyes glance around the nursery. She tries to think of a came Bayingkit or Lightningkit would like... A game Stormkit would like... Stormkit... Oh! Stormkit! She has an idea. A really good one. Er- she had it already, of course...

" Okay! Um, it's called... Blind Bat, " she tells her. Obviously... " One cat has to close their eyes... and keep them closed while finding the other cat! But- the hiding cat has to talk to them and stuff, so they can hear them! " That sounded fun, right? She didn't have to win a fight or anything, she just had to be quiet and sneaky, and she could do that... " D-do you wanna play? " Does that sound good to you? " Maybe I can um, hide first! "

It's ears drop at the mention of biting being mean, there is some part of her that know Tigerkit doesn't mean to scold and yet it feels like he's in trouble regardless. "How do you… know if someone's a monster or… an evil cat?" This doesn't come from a place of judgement rather than curiosity. It doesn't want to be perceived as mean, even if biting is one of the only things that it can rely on consistently. Tigerkit seems smart, older than her siblings in wisdom for sure if she knows apprentice games. So clearly she must know what she's talking about.

She says they're not a bully, her ears perk back up at that. "I could do… that" he nods a little too dramatically, long tangled fur flopping over with him as she bobs her head. "Do you… Have any bullies?" It sounds a lot more subtle than who should I bite. She was slowly learning the art of subtly, even if his clumsy stumbling self struggle to properly grasp the concept. He can't imagine Tigerkit having many bullies, she seems nice and quiet. Not loud or annoying, which Thrashkit imagines one would be bullied for. Or for being born from outside of the clan… Again this doesn't seem like it applies to Tigerkit.

"I would… That's what friends do… right?" He thinks so anyways, she would like a friend to bite any bullies for it. Not that it can't do it themself just fine. The concept is nice though, even if it's just a thought exercise it's comforting. He shuffles on too big paws to diligently listen to the she-kit next to him, the moss the tabby was inspecting seems to be all but forgotten.

Blind bat sounded hard… They're not sure if they'd have fun playing this but… It's an apprentice game, with a friend. Different to the games of the nursery, maybe this would help her finally find out what having fun is meant to be. "Okay… Sounds fun. I can… Close my eyes" they pause and take a step back, the thought process being that it didn't seem really fair if he remembered where Tigerkit is. Taking that into consideration she begins to spin on her paws, tripping over them once and stopping her turns after the second one. "Okay.. I guess I'll… Find you now" He's pretty sure that's what she's supposed to be doing.

Well... Well you just knew those things, didn't you? Did Thrashpaw really not know? " Well... monsters look like monsters, " helpfully she said. " And I know ShadowClan is evil. All the Clans are, actually... ThunderClan's the only good one, okay? So if a cat doesn't smell like ThunderClan, they're probably evil... " But then, Skyclaw had been ThunderClan, and he tried to hurt people... He did hurt people. Howlingstar was gone... It was probably cause of his name. Probably because he was named after something bad... His mom must not have loved him... But they were kin, weren't they? It's all confusing...Tigerkit's ears shift. " Well, ThunderClanners can be evil too sometimes... but I just know. I knew it, " she claims. " I can tell you if someone's evil. "

She likes Thrashpaw. Thrashpaw's a good listener. She perks at the declaration. Thrashkit's bigger than her... And scarier. Surely no one would talk over her anymore if she had him as her friend? " Yeah! " She says. She's pretty sure, anyways... " Bayingkit. Bayingkit's a bully. And Stormkit and Twilightkit might be too... " She's not super sure yet, but she's pretty sure... She doesn't want Thrashkit to actually bite them, um, probably... but they could at least look tough next to her. That'd be nice...

Tigerkit didn't actually know any apprentice games really... But maybe the one she came up with would be even better. She's happy that Thraskit wants to play. A striped tail sets about an excited sway. " Yay! Okay. " She runs in a random direction, eventually tucking herself against the nursery wall toward Thrashkit's right. Keeping her own rules in mind, she continues talking. " If you got another friend, you wouldn't like them as much as me, right? " Her tail flicks, brushing against the mossy nests. " I'm the first, so I'm special. "
