In a twisted storm of sandy fur, a funnel of grass bits and dirt surrounds the apprentices as he rolls and curves out from under the npc apprentice that bucks and drives down with forepaws punched into Scorpionpaw’s stomach. The tan boy grunts and his sides heave, the wind is knocked from him and he turns over with his chest to the ground to gag from the force of the blow to his gut. Scorpionpaw lashes his tail and taps his paw in surrender.

" okay-... that felt nice " he wheezes sarcastically, breathing hard he flops onto his back. With a chuckle he sighs, his energy for the day had been spent. After a few long moments, Scorpionpaw lifts off his belly and sluggishly drops himself to a softer patch of grass. The apprentice he had been wrestling with leaves to grab prey.

“ you apprentices should keep the rough sparring out of camp or at least, further from the nursery! ” an elder’s voice calls out. Scorpionpaw scrunches up his brows. " yes sir… we were just playing " his voice is polite, but he rolls his eyes as he turns his head. Only able to sit still for two seconds before he’s waving to a nearby clanmate.

" Hey- I was thinking of setting up a bet sometime with the apprentices. Who do you think is the fastest cat in camp? " he leads with a question, picking up a small rock with the pad of his foot to fiddle with idly.

The hoarse yell of an elder caught Twitchbolt's attention- ever flickering wariness, flitting like a fickle fly from cat to cat, dictate he checked up on every yelp that pitched through the sky and forked through his ears. Jade eyes blinked in bemusement for a few moments, but when he saw Scorpionpaw slinking away from the scene, rebellious wrinkle on his face, it was not difficult to put two and two together. Typical apprentice shenanigans, really, and not a... a fox bursting through their walls or something. Twitchbolt spasmed, swatting away something invisible with his tail. No harm, no foul.

It did not take Twitchbolt long to himself be approached by the obviously-bored apprentice, and for a moment he thought he might get roped into some scheme, but- nope. A bet, he said- Twitchbolt's shoulders shook with amusement, a short puff of air leaving a pink nose. "Y'know..." he clicked his tongue, ever-wide eyes snapping from cat to cat, a shaky smile stretching across his muzzle. "I bet I could give anyone a run for their money." His small size and flighty nature had always given him a bit of a gift for running- yeah, sure, he was no Windclanner (as if he'd want to be), but he certainly wasn't bad.
