he didn't know what he thought of duskpool as his mentor. he was rather upset by it, but not showing it outside. what emotions did he show outside of neutrality anyways? the boy simply did as he was told. the first day of training was long and boring, learning about the other clans. Thunderclan, Riverclan, blah blah. He was bored, and it was really nothing he cared about. But hed still go back to camp and tell oleanderkit about what he had learned. He was sure she was even more eager to be an apprentice by now. But she still had time, unfortunately for her.

His russet body stiffened suddenly, and as duskpool instructed him, he tuned the smoke out. His hunting stance was a little lopsided, but he would not notice. In his head, he was perfectly moving across the grassy ground, forested gaze trained on the mouse sniffing the ground. He heard a hiss of annoyance, as if the tom could tell he wasnt listening. And he half wanted to respond for the male to shut up, but he chose quiet instead. He didn't want to hear another lecture anyways.

Foxglovepaw moved carefully, at least. Paws avoiding the crinkling alarm of his presence, before he dove forward-

The mouse darted, and he held his nose with both paws in pain as he ended up diving headfirst into the ground. It was a burning sensation, eyes rolling open and watering as they did. A hiss of anger escaped him, thrashing his paw and throwing leaves in the direction the small rodent disappeared off to. "
Stupid. Fuckin. Dumb. Mouse," he hissed, his paw striking another innocent pile of leaves and throwing it all over.

@DUSKPOOL Mentor tag! But no need to wait!

The needle-strewn floor of SkyClan's forests was relatively forgiving. What leaf litter existed wasn't enough to make a crash out of, and there were no mud puddles to flounder in unless it'd recently rained. Still, the impact of Foxglovepaw's face against the earth makes mismatched ears twitch from tail-lengths up and away, all the way to the tree branch Cherryblossom perches upon.

From his mouth spits a staccato string of insults, each as venomous and punctuated as an adder's strike. She turns towards @ricepaw with an annoyed crease on her muzzle. "Let's hope I never catch you throwing a hissy fit like that," she mutters to the wispy-furred apprentice. For a newly-minted apprentice though, she could understand. Cherrypaw had acted worse for less, though Duskpool seemed to have more patience for it than Slate. Ricepaw, however, was moons into training. It'd look immensely bad on Cherryblossom if she allowed her apprentice to be so childish, especially in public.

With a gesture for Ricepaw to follow, the calico neatly scrambles off the tree and pads towards the empty-jawed boy. "It's just one mouse," she intones unsympathetically. "Don't get your whiskers in a twist over it." She longs to do something about his attitude, though technically he's done nothing wrong. If Duskpool saw fit, he'd do something about it.

Not every hunt is successful, Florabreeze is aware of this fact. She had failed many hunts when she was first shadowing Sorrelsong and even now, often being too loud through chatter or a poorly timed sneeze. She's trying to instruct @jellypaw ♬ and @SFOGLIATELLA on their forms while climbing a sturdy pine tree when she hears the volatile mix of profanity from Foxglovepaw. With a flick of her tufted ear she find's her attention is momentarily divided. "Let's try hunting" she calls up to her apprentices, gesturing for them to climb down from the tree and follow her towards the cats gathered by this metaphorical scene of the crime. Cherryblossom is there first, with Ricepaw in tow and she can't help but smile despite the slightly sour circumstances.

"Cherryblossom's right, it is just one mouse but there's plenty more out there" She doesn't really comment on the unsympathetic nature of the other warrior but she mentally takes note of it. Not that she really could say much to her, even if she's lead warrior now she didn't think any position could really rule over a personality. "How about you try again? I scare away prey all the time" she prompts and looks to Duskpool, hoping that he wouldn't mind her making suggestions such as this. Florabreeze really wasn't the type to try and take over other mentors duties, plus she was sure not many mentors enjoyed that overstepping.

If it meant that she could try and cheer up Foxglovepaw though, she's sure that he wouldn't be too upset about it. Though she is sympathetic to the fact that he can't catch the prey she had to admit that it was a little concerning for him to be so upset over it. He is a new apprentice, so hopefully that behaviour will improve in time.

Ricepaw follows after Cherryblossom like a dutiful apprentice would, but her obedience is less out of loyalty and duty for her mentor, and more for her own personal image. If shes less than perfect, then cats would see her as such and it is a terrifying thought... They stumble upon the scene of Foxglovepaw just missing a mouse, faceplanting in to the earth and hissing over it, smacking leaf-litter in to the air because of it.

Cherryblossoms words rub her wrong, treating her as if she'd throw a tantrum over the smallest thing... Just like Foxglovepaw. "Thats embarrassing." she seethes silently through her teeth, only meant for her mentor. Out of pure spite, Ricepaw begins to think about doing the same thing that the younger apprentice was doing. She's only stopped because of her previous thoughts about her own image within the clan.

Her eyes are nothing short of full of disdain and contempt as they gaze upon Foxglovepaw. "You certainly scared away the rest of the prey with that, if you hadn't already..." its the same thing she had said when Batscreech had besmirched her sister, yelling at her over a simple sneeze. Oh, how the thought of it makes her burn within, to think he had the gall to yell at her stupid, naïve sister, and to think Figfeather had punished all of them instead of the perpetrator.

She sniffs, sweeping a plumed tail over the fall earth below. Florabreeze is quick to offer condolence and words of advice in which Ricepaw doesn't need to be privy to. "You can always hunt in the trees, too." and she turns her face upon Cherryblossom, trying to goad the other in to giving her permission to do so; Ricepaw would smoke Foxglovepaw in tree-hunting, a natural born climber, but it'd be less of a chance for whining, having to watch each step you take on the branch. He wouldn't have time to fight leaves of all things...
