private OCCUPIED TURF シ THUNDERGLEAM

She felt weird when she looked at Thundergleam. She felt weird cause... She wasn't a Leader. She wasn't a Medicine Cat... She wasn't even born in ThunderClan, Tigerkit doesn't think, but she felt like Thundergleam was special. Maybe she just looked special, with her kind of weird pelt and very weird eyes. It wasn't fair that a cat could just look special and maybe not even be special... because looking special was enough to be special, wasn't it? The two worked with each other... It worked for Twilightkit. Even with Tigerkit's od eyes, it wouldn't work for her, cause Bayingkit took one of those too...

Tigerkit's kind of glad about Softsight. it was easier not to wish she could look like Thundergleam that way... but then, how could Softsight be here, and she still felt like Thundergleam was different? How did she do it?

One day, she decides... Decides she's gonna ask. Tigerkit liked being asked questions, even if they were annoying ones. Maybe Thundergleam would like that too. Spotting the warrior in camp, Tigerkit would pad toward her tentatively. " Hi, Thundergleam, " she greets, because that's the proper thing to do... Her ears flicker atop her head. " Um, can I- Can I ask you a question? " There's an anxious flicker of her tailtip. She wouldn't say no, would she? She hasn't seen Thundergleam be anything but nice so far... maybe that's what made her special, and Tigerkit could be like her... but then— ugh. " Um... what are you? " Not a Leader, not a Deputy, not a Medicine Cat or Medicine Cat's apprentice, so... what?

OOC: Get interrogated @THUNDERGLEAM ...

Oh, a little voice! Not-so-little as it used to be, though. "Oh- hello Tigerkit," she chimes, ease brightening her features. Ah, how strange to see her in this way when she remembered this scrap being voiceless! And was that not such a wonderful thing, too? There would be no question from anyone that she belonged here, wholly - not when she had seen kits find their voices, the shift of leaders, the glimmer of the starlight in these oaks -

But she was listening to little Tigerkit, or course... even if part of her mind was preoccupied by her cuteness, a peering thing with odd eyes, given such a fierce name, too. There was strength in that heart, she was sure: the strength of striped ancestors, yes. And painted in this image! Built for the oaks, for stealth, for the thicket that prey hid and huddled within ... it was easy to forsee Tigerkit's fate as a strong warrior of ThunderClan's rank, yes.

Can I ask you a question? Consent given with a tilt of the head, a nod, crimson pupils settled thoughtfully upon the kit.

That certainly had not been what she was expecting. Wisdom ran deep in her bones... passed down from Father, and the many many many moons he had lived. Knowledge was so natural, reliant on superior, honed intuition and yet- a kit could have her hesitate, hah! So many small wonders lay within ThunderClan's walls, even now. "Well, I am a cat," she pondered. Surely that was too simplistic an answer for what Tigerkit sought, though, was it not?

"I am from beyond here, but brought by the stars... so some may say I am loner-blooded, less a 'cat' than those born here." Still, she smiled in recollection. That sentiment did not dwell so often in narrowed eyes anymore. "But most importantly I should say I am a Thunderclanner, just like you."

She feels like Thundergleam is looking at her funny... But she kind of felt like Thundergleam looked at everyone funny. Tigerkit guesses she was allowed to do that. She kind of feels like its a trick, the um... niceness in her gaze, past the funniness. Tigerkit kind of liked it, even if it was a trick. Did that make her a dumb kit? She tries to return the look, brightening her face a little bit. The warrior looks very thoughtful for a moment, and Tigerkit is happy she's taking her seriously.

" Okay, " she says. She's a cat. Well, Tigerkit had mostly, half-suspected that... Yes, she's a cat, but what kind of cat? A wide-eyed blink urges the pale she-cat to continue on. Tigerkit lets out a quiet, ooh, then. So it was definitely true that Thundergleam was from somewhere else... She wonders where. Someone worse, probably, if she was here now... Had everything— Howlingstar being gone, being stuck in the nursery forever... well, she guess Thundergleam hadn't been stuck in the nursery, but had that stuff scared her? Did it make her miss where she came from?

...Well, all that stuff had scared Tigerkit, but even then, she knew ThunderClan was the most important place she could possibly be... Thundergleam most know too. yeah, she had to. She seemes smart... and plus her name is Thundergleam. Tigerkit nods, feeling quite important in this moment; and she liked feeling important. " I knew that, " she says. Did Thundergleam think she was smart like her? " I knew that cause of your name. It'd be a really funny name if you weren't a ThunderClanner. " She pauses a moment. " And you're definitely a cat. And... not less than anyone. You're important. " She'd like Thundergleam to know she knows this, too.

They're having a very grown-up conversation right now... She hopes that others will see this. She wanted to be like Thundergleam, she thinks; but also, not at all. " Are you important cause of the stars? Cause you talk to them? " she asks. Tigerkit would say she'd like to do that, but like, a thousand cats have done that already... " The stars talk to lots of cats, I think. Like Gentlestorm. And- And Flamestar, I think. " And Howlingstar, she guesses... But now she was the star. A samey star. Like all the other samey stars...

I knew that, said the little tiger- and Thundergleam nodded with glittering enthusiasm. Yes, yes- knew a host of things already, so much that she wondered why Tigerkit had asked her at all. Her smile did not waver with this pondering, though- no, it was a sugared, pretty thing, pleased. "Ah, I am honoured to be so known," she chittered, humour a grasshopper-chitter in her voice. "It would be funny, would it not? It is how I know it is my destiny to be here." Yes, to save ThunderClan... no cat of gleaming shadows could save this place, no glimmering lightning-bolt would rescue the cats of the river...

Important. Oh, yes- it was good to be recognised, though she did not walk this plane for glory. "I am lucky to be deemed important enough to speak to them, I admit..." She could never be grateful enough, truly. This life she was blessed to lead, oh- many factors had to align for it, this beautiful life, this glittering fate. "Yes, they talk to those worthy only ... a select few. A regular warrior like myself, well... I should say it is rare for me to receive prophecies. But it is what it has always been, since I was only Thunderkit... when I was but your age, I dreamed of a luminous thunderstorm, and I knew it to be an omen for my coming here once I was a fully trained warrior."

Thundergleam ticked her tongue. "Many begin to commune later in life, though. Would you like to speak with the Stars one day, dear?'

Tigerkit tips her head. If she was special and stuff like Thundergleam... she doesn't know if she'd be honored and lucky and stuff... She thinks she'd just be special. And she'd just be happy about being special. Maybe Thundergleam's just trying to make the boring cats feel better about themselves? Boring cats like Tigerkit... She guesses that's a nice thing to do, even if the thought makes her a bit sad... She wonders what had made " Oh, wow... " she breathes. Being a warrior that talked to StarClan seemed even more important than being a Medicine Cat or a Leader. StarClan talked to those cats because they had to, right? But if they're just talking to a warrior, it had to be because they wanted to.

" That's very important, " she concludes. For a moment, she wonders why Thundergleam wasn't Leader or Medicine Cat... Would she be the most important one then, because StarClan liked her even before that? Or would it make her just like all the other Leader's and Medicine Cat's then? It's very complicated... Tigerkit wonders what made Thundergleam worthy. StarClan talked to her when she was Tigerkit's age? Well... Tigerkit is Tigerkit's age right now. She hasn't gotten anything like that yet. Sudden worry rounds her eyes. " Oh- is it too late? Am I too late? " she asks. " Is it too late to be... worthy? I- I haven't gotten anything yet. " She's sniffling suddenly, not sure if she can handle this news. She thought... Well, she'd thought she still had time...

Did she wanna speak to the stars? Well, she'd thought maybe, but now she's not sure. Thundergleam did that already. " I dunno... " she admits. " There are lots of Medicine Cats and Leaders already. I don't wanna be another one. Not unless... " Well, she doesn't know. Not unless she was like... the only kit Leader, or something. Or the only magic Medicine Cat. " Maybe if it's very important... " she offers, shufling her paws. She doesn't wanna make Thundergleam sad the way Bayingkit made her sad, though. " But I don't wanna... Don't wanna steal from you... "
