with the blizzard now long gone and the build up around the den entrances successfully dug out, residents of thunderclan are finally able to escape the confines of their shelter only to be met with piles of snow blanketing the clearing waiting to be cleaned. although there was the initial collective of groans, folks who were able went right to work trying to carve out proper walking paths.

fawncloud can be seen emerging from the warriors den behind the rest of the stragglers, a quick yawn falling from a partially opened maw. as much as he wanted to put something in his belly first, the pile had unfortunately been buried too and until it gets cleared out he decided to go help with removing the stubborn snow.

lanky limbs had carried the senior warrior through the area where he found himself coming across flycatcher who he greeted with a friendly nudge of the shoulder. "heey brotha', mind if i hang with ya? came to see if ya needed an extra paw or somethin'."

Still picking up extra duties around camp, Flycatcher is awake early that morning assigning daily tasks and patrols. The blizzard has largely cleared now but snow still lingers in places. The lead warrior has just finished ordering a hunting patrol to head out and find more prey when a bump to the shoulder catches his attention. He turns to see it is Fawncloud, asking to stick with him and if he needed an extra paw. "Well you just missed the hunting patrol," Flycatcher told the older tom as he returned the friendly bump. He looked around camp momentarily, searching for something he could give Fawncloud to do. "Do you want to help me fix some of the dens? I fear after all the snow my repairs have not lasted long."

a nubbed tail would flick as flycatcher points out a missed opprotunity to go out on the hunting patrol but that was fine, there would be plenty of chances to go on one later in the day. fawncloud stood patiently while the lead warrior took a glance around the clearing for a task that needed to be done before ultimately coming up with den repairs which he happily agreed to by a nod of his head.

"which one should we go to first, i'm thinkin the elder's. i mean, sparrowfall has been crowin' about the mess the blizzard has made so best make sure there ain't any potential leaks or somethin' goin' on there unless." he turns his head to peer at the den where some of the aged felines are tucked away inside the fallen, hollow tree.

fawncloud would follow flycatcher's lead whenever he decides to move but for a second the senior warrior mulls over something that he feels like he's forgetting that concerns the mackerel tabby then it hits him, flycatcher was about to be a father soon. "i almost forgot, i wanted to congratulate you and flame on your soon to be first litter. ya must be stoked to be a dad, huh?"

"To be fair, Sparrowfall is always complaining about the mess in there," Flycatcher said with a wry grin. "There could be one bit of moss out of place and he'd find something to complain about. But I imagine the blizzard doesn't do any of the elders any favours. It's a miracle none of them have gotten seriously ill with all this cold weather."

With Fawncloud deferring to him, Flycatcher moves to gather up some supplies for the two of them to split before getting to work. As he is gathering up moss, Fawncloud congratulates him on his impending parenthood before asking where he was excited to be a dad. "Thank you," He smiled appreciatively. "It's a little nerve-wracking, to be honest, but I am looking forward to being a father. The idea of seeing my own kits grow and learn fills me with so much warm. I can't wait to meet them, to see who they take after, and the kind of cats they grow to be. Ahh, sorry I'm rambling a bit."

an familiar, easy-going tune thrums the chords of his throat as he watches flycatcher assemble a pile of supplies before it is split evenly among the two so that they can get to work. chestnut dipped paws splashed with white begin to sort through the items before settling on a few lengthy sticks and twigs in order to begin patching up any rickety areas seen on the fallen tree.

as he works, flycatcher goes on to speak about his feelings about fatherhood and it causes fawncloud to smile whilst nodding along. "right on, brother. bein' a new parent is always gonna be nerve-wracking but i just know these kits are gonna grow up to be somethin' special especially since they got a hardworking mom and dad to look up to." fawn paused his work briefly to get a good look ay his progress. "you got any names in mind already?"

He dips his head in appreciation of Fawncloud's words. Sometimes he forgets that he and Flamewhisker are both lead warriors, cats to look up to and respect in the clan. Although proud of their positions he will try his best to ensure their children will not live their lives with their parents' roles within the clan lingering over their heads. They can be proud of their position and maybe even aspire to follow them but he is keen for their kits just to go where life takes them and be the cats they want to be with no pressure of pre-determined expectations. "We have a few, yes," Flycatcher confirmed with a nod of the head. He takes a few moments to finish a section of the den wall he had been repairing. The blue tom gives it an appraising glance before nodding his head, satisfied with his work on the section. "We've considered a few family names and names that come from the forest. Mostly trees and birds."
