ON THE LINE . softkit

Bumblekit's day had dawned with an unexpected chill, the heavy dampness from the swamps only making it feel colder. Nestling up next to her siblings in the nursery, she initially sought warmth and comfort from the breeze. However, the gloomy weather left her feeling utterly bored, and it seemed as though the confines of the nursery were only making matters worse.

Determined not to simply sit and freeze in her nest, she decided to take action. With a bound in her step and a spark of energy, she dashed out of the nest and began to run about. A small lap around the nursery seemed like a decent way to generate some warmth, but the reality was different. Her quick sprint in place brought her no relief, and the cold dampness of the day seemed to seep deeper into her bones.

Shivering, she fluffed her feathery pelt in an attempt to trap some heat against her tiny body. Huddling down into her fur, she looked around the nursery, green eyes mere slits in her black coat. The feeling of coldness was unrelenting, and her thoughts wandered back to her true home, the one where comfy nests awaited, and reed beds rustled in the gentle breeze. Bumblekit couldn't help but wish they could return there soon.

A voice called out from behind, and the fluffed youth peered over her shoulder curiously.

// sorry it's such a plain thread but I felt a neutral setting would be a good start! @Softkit

She had her ways of fighting off the chill that permeated the ShadowClan nursery; her own long coat did its fair share of work, and it wasn't often that Softkit found herself too far from snuggling up next to her sister for additional warmth. She had been dozing off when a small rush of air took off past her, and she slowly opened her eyes in time to watch a black kitten dart off around the perimeter of the nursery
"Hey," Softkit said quietly as she stood, approaching the other she-kit from behind. Her head was tilted just slightly to the side in her own show of curiosity. "What is it you're doing? Why are you running?" She asked as she came to a stop a few paw lengths away.
