  fern is an individualist who strives to be herself in an environment that can sometimes feel conforming. soft-spoken and polite to those around her, she elicits either maternal vibes or the vibes of someone well put together upon first meeting her, however, it is an impression that quickly fades the moment she goes off on a tangent. ferndance is a creative storyteller, enjoying making up lies on the spot for the benefit of herself or the enjoyment of those around her and that sweetness of hers masquerades a blunt attitude and flippancy to taboo topics that can make her difficult to talk to. most of it is a fabrication, she would not willingly push a cat onto the thunderpath or eat them, but behind her gentle demeanor is a fierce streak that manifests through a blue-and-orange morality. she believes in doing what she wants to do almost at all times, which usually manifests in stealing from clanmates or using her power as a lead warrior to ask others to do ridiculous things, and is unable to see where the harm comes from.
  
  with an upbringing that takes away personal responsibility in a social climate, there is a wildness to her that can put her at odds with more lawful members of shadowclan. she has a bright, bubbly personality that can get fascinated by the simplest things. though knowledgeable about the natural world, there is an airiness to her that makes the forgetful, and unchecked impulsiveness appear as a lack of intelligence. it is not always easy to tell how much is a joke and how much is her sincerely having no thoughts and an empty head, despite her confidence she is not a self-reflective individual and would not be able to offer an answer either. though typically selfish and working towards her own goals (which don't extend past 'wanna have fun'), she is a fiercely protective friend and her calm demeanour will easily break when their condition has left her stressed out.
