*+:。.。 Mirepurr was a feline that could not easily be ignored. They were as present as the morning sun and just as warm. They were known, as easily as their name, for their kindly disposition - a heart behind the eyes that many shadowclanners couldn't compare to. Duckshimmer was surprised to realize one day that she had never properly had the pleasure of getting to know the other chocolate-toned feline. When their names were paired for a simple border patrol, Duckshimmer cheerily seized her chance.
The patrol was made up of Duckshimmer, Mirepurr, and a mentor with their apprentice. As though the stars had aligned, the mentor and apprentice were so engrossed in teachings that they faltered steps behind, allowing Duckshimmer the chance to have all eyes on the feline beside her.
Aside from the substantiated rumors of their good nature and charming personality, Duckshimmer wasn't sure what more to make of the other petite chocolate feline. Walking beside them, she briefly considered how nice it was that she didn't need to range her neck to speak to them, although she wondered if the other struggled with being more on the shorter side than the average feline of shadows. What were Mirepurr's insecurities? What did they fear? What did they like? Did they have any crushes, any enemies? Duckshimmer's periwinkle eyes sparkled as she watched her clanmate walk, picking their way as any skilled tracker would through the marshy wetlands.
Should Mirepurr finally look up and catch Duckshimmer staring, the tortie woman would politely blink - but not look away. "Forgive me," she intones, voice silky, "I was admiring the way the sun catches your fur...you're quite lovely to look at, " with a flutter of her eyelashes and a light, almost embarrassed twinkle of laughter, she adds, "although, I'm sure you must get that a lot"
A careful sideways step to avoid a murky puddle leads her to step just a little closer to the other, threatening to brush off cream fur against their soft browns. "It must be difficult, batting away at suitors" she mews casually, a teasing gleam in her periwinkle hues, "they must so often how charmed they are by your presence. How beautiful a shade of blue your eyes are...how your smile lights a day warmer than the sun and more brilliantly than the stars at night...they probably ask all the time, as crass flirts often do, if they might share a nest with you tonight, or a meal with you tomorrow, can't say I approve of their efforts, but neither can I say I blame them for trying" Flirting was a game, a test, a key to a lock whenever Duckshimmer should need to open the right door...but here, and now, with just herself and Mirepurr, flirting was just a tactic to see if she could get the other to smile.
After all, Mirepurr's smile was, truly, one of the loveliest sights to behold in all of Shadowclan.
"After all, your company is quite the delight"
