A mouse, old and shriveled and obviously overlooked, was briefly inspected by Lionpaw who wrinkled their nose in disgust. Onto the discard pile it was tossed, along with the other nasty bits of fresh-kill that were no longer fresh. Lionpaw doesn't understand how his clanmates could let any food go to waste, but sometimes the patrols over-hunted and prey naturally decayed. Ah well. More work for him. Lionpaw would rather be out training or patrolling instead of engaging in menial dirty work, but Crowsight had been a bit preoccupied as of late with the new kits and all. He figured he should pay a visit to see his new niblings, but he wanted to let the parents have their time together.
A huff escapes their nostrils as they pick out another rotting carcass. Out of the corner of their eye, they can see Oleanderkit enthusiastically roping Doeblaze into a game. Of course, the white-patched lilac tabby was glad to play along. Lionpaw's gaze lingers a bit longer than intended, a conflicted feeling stirring in the pit of his stomach. Maybe it wasn't so much him wanting to be a kit again but him wanting all of Doeblaze's attention again. She never really had the energy to play with him and his littermates like she did the newer kits; it was always Butterflytuft. It was... interesting ( and troubling ), seeing Doeblaze act more engaged than she'd ever been. However, Lionpaw had always been too much of a people-pleaser to place blame on Doeblaze or confront her about it. He didn't rely on Ma anymore, anyway. Why should it matter?
A dark, smoky form moves into eyesight — Lupinesong, who he nearly mistakes for Crowsight until he recognizes her green optics. "Loopy," Lionpaw greets, a faint smile appearing on his maw. It's been a while since he's had the opportunity to speak to her. "Did you 'n Stormpaw just finish training?" The chocolate torbie point inquires, remembering that his friend and her mentor had departed camp earlier that day.
