"Fanta!" he yells, "Hey! Fanta!" A dirt-streaked bundle of pale fur wriggles from beneath a nearby fence, long fur parted awkwardly and poofing comically back to its full size with one single shake of his body. He knows the molly only through the chattering of twolegs, the way that he knows home and fucker and Mojito. But if the twolegs call her that, surely she'll respond to it too, won't she? It's pretty late and she's just coming home (what's up with that, anyway?) and Mojito knows that his housefolk will get really worried if he's out too far past dark, but this is so important that he'll risk their angry-yelling-squishing-tight routine. There's probably a way he could've been more tactful about this, but the kitten just blurts out: "You talk to the wild cats, right? Out in the forest? Are they your friends?"
