// this thread takes place PRIOR to the three warriors attacking the former kittypets.
The walk back to camp had been filled with chatter, murmured planning with Gentlestorm. How will this look? How can ThunderClan ensure safety if Gentlestorm is in RiverClan? Will they waste herbs on this training? It’s not a perfect system, but by the time they return to camp, she thinks it will work well enough. Howlingstar steps into ThunderClan's camp, her posture commanding attention immediately. Anyone can tell when she has something urgent to say. As she and her medicine cat cross the barrier’s threshold and into the heart of the camp, the eyes of their clanmates turn toward them.
The stout tabby climbs onto the Highrock and stands at its edge. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting," She begins, her gaze sweeping over her gathered warriors and apprentices, voice resonating with the authority she’s grown so accustomed to. "I have important news to share." Her tone softens slightly then, heavy with the weight of the recent discussion at the border. "Gentlestorm and I have met with Lichenstar and Moonbeam at the border. RiverClan’s medicine cat is new, undertrained with Ravensong gone, much like Gentlestorm had been when Berryheart passed.” A flicker of pain crosses her expression at the mention of her son before she dips her head slightly to continue. “In the spirit of peace and cooperation, Gentlestorm will be begin training Moonbeam. In exchange for his time, Lichenstar has promised that we will have peace over Sunningrocks - they will continue to not challenge us for our territory. It's a step toward mutual harmony between our clans."
She looks at Gentlestorm and nods to him. "Moonbeam will spend half of the time here in our camp. For the other half, Gentlestorm has agreed to visit RiverClan - so no clan will be without their medicine for any long periods. He will leave every other dawn and return at dusk that day." Her firm green gaze returns to her clan. "I expect all of you to respect Moonbeam as a guest and as a medicine cat. This arrangement will benefit both our clans, and it is our duty to uphold the spirit of this agreement. Never forget we have honor.”
“I know you all just have questions. Share with me your thoughts,” She finally finishes, fully expecting some of her clanmates to take issue with the deal. She can’t blame them, exactly - she doesn’t like parts of it, either. But she fully believes this will end up benefitting them. It is an act of diplomacy, of peace, and they won’t have to worry about Sunningrocks anymore.
