↞ RACE THE WINDS
The early morning carried with it a brisk wind that cut deep through even the likes of Galepaw's sturdy fur, and sent a chill up the length of his spine. The desire to run across the open moorland remained tantalising as a way of warming his core, but he found himself rooted beneath the spiny tendrils that made up one of the entrances to the camp. He might not be the brightest of apprentices but even he knew not to tempt the fates by venturing out alone. Rocking forward ever so slightly he found himself peering up past the branches of the gorse in order to catch a glimpse of the grey sky above.

"Hmph! It better not rain today", he grumbled with a lash of his tail. His recent luck had been foul enough without risking yet another setback. A deep sigh rumbled forth from the depths of his chest and he soon found himself shuffling around so he could leer back impatiently at the main area of the camp in the hopes of spying a patrol that might be heading out. Hunting or border patrol, he'd honestly take anything at this point if it meant getting out onto the moors again.

Like Galepaw, Weaselclaw has a wary eye on the clouded skies hanging above the moorland beyond their camp. He comes to sit beside the other cat, striped tail flicking irritably behind him. "Bad luck to be on a patrol," he murmurs crossly. "If I wanted water, I'd go live in RiverClan and soak myself." He wrinkles his nose distastefully as he says it.

With a glance at the young apprentice, he meows, "I'm headed out with Owlpaw. You can come with us, as long as you're prepared to get wet. But it's good experience to try and track in the rain." He looks over his shoulder to find the blue and white apprentice in the camp. "Besides, maybe we'll get lucky and it won't."

@OWLPAW if you want!

While she hadn’t been awake for long, the warrior was awake long enough to hear the grumbling of the apprentice. Giggling softly to herself, Ivoryflight would walk over cheerfully, @SHREWPAW hopefully not far behind her. Weaselclaw and his own apprentice were just in front of her, managing to reach the apprentice before them. “Good morning everyone! We’re heading out as well if you’d like the company? I’d agree, we may as well make this quick before it decides to rain on us!

// welcome to windclan!!

the young apprentice, as much as she wished to be sleeping in right now, followed behind her mentor towards the entrance of the heather tunnel. course, they weren't the only ones planning on heading out as weaselclaw, owlpaw and galepaw had come into view. they were chatting about the potential for rain but shrewpaw didn't tune in for the rest of it, drowsy eyes blinking slow before jaws part to release a loud yawn.

sometimes getting up this early should be considered some kind of sin. such is the life of a warrior to be she guessed, ah well, when they get moving again shrewpaw is sure to look a little more awake.

//BEASTY!! WELCOME TO WINDCLAN!! :D

The mention of a patrol catches her attention, and Hyacinthbreath is quick to join the group. With Coldsnap now a Warrior, she had lots of time on her hands when she didn't have duties to do. Her pelt brushes up against Ivoryflight's own, announcing her presence with a dip of her head to those present. Stoic, cold eyes look over Galepaw- who was his mentor, again?

"Rain just means we need to make sure the nursery is properly protected. Perhaps we can find a few frogs to bring back?"

The interjection of Weaselclaw's voice was just the very thing that Galepaw needed to help draw him out of his current slump. With near-instant result, his expression perked up before a roar of laughter erupted from the youth in response to the remark made about RiverClan and water. "Ha! They can keep their rain and soggy butts to themselves!" He added with a toss of his head. Frankly the RiverClanners looked like fat slugs in comparison to the elegant builds of those in the great WindClan.

As the tantalising offer of joining a patrol was made Galepaw could barely stop his fur from bushing from his sense of excitement. "As if rain would keep me from conducting my work. I would be honoured to accompany you!" Galepaw practically bellowed the words in reply, unfortunately he somewhat lacked a quiet voice. Loud and brash, that was the best way to describe him.

Others arrived in the form of Ivoryflight, Shrewpaw, Owlpaw and Hyacinthbreath, much to Galepaw's pleasure. Now they seemed to have a solid patrol planned already, so with luck they would likely beat the rain before it could claim the open moors. Well, one could hope so anyway. However, despite his upbeat attitude he couldn't help but feel a brief twinge of jealousy towards the other apprentices. They had mentors, whereas he... did not. At least, not in the current sense. His mentor had abandoned WindClan. Abandoned him. Since that day no other warrior had been assigned to him, which had left him scavenging the attention of whoever he could.

"Hey everyone!" He promptly greeted with a lash of his tail before he cast his focus towards Hyacinthbreath after catching her words. "I'll catch a hundred frogs for them!" A bold claim, one that would never be fulfilled given his track record when it came to focusing on specific missions.

//Thanks for the welcome ^_^

Alright then. Everyone ready to head out?” Inquiring of the group, she would glance between them all before leading the way out of the camp. Once further away they could discuss where to hunt, or potentially even splitting up to hunt in smaller groups. Not one to argue, she would go with the flow, allowing for a better training opportunity for the apprentices.
