oneshot REFLECT - development

Agatepaw would not be the first to come to such a conclusion, and likely not the last. But the thought of it soothed... him. Him. It soothed him.

Him, him, him. His, his, his. He, he, he. It sounded good. It sounded nice to him. He liked it.

Maybe it wasn't just the he felt that Stonepaw was better than him at everything that was his issue. It was that Stonepaw was a tom, and he also wanted that for himself. And, selfihs as Agatepaw was normally, why had he not taken what he wanted for himself?

He could. He could be a tom. He didn't have to be a daughter. But what if his parents didn't like him wanting to do so? What if they wanted him to stay their daughter, and not be their son?

They wouldn't though, right? They accepted Plumpaw. Why wouldn't they accept him? Still, the doubts festered in his mind, and the bite of the chills didn't help to soothe him.

But no matter what, Agatepaw would perserve. Even despite of all the bad feelings that plagued him so far, he did. He persevered. And would preserve, again and again.

He'd tell them. So he could be himself.
