YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ENOUGH

Soft paws would carry the flame-colored molly through the scorched remains of Shadowclans's beloved forest. It made her heart ache, the once beautiful pines now left dark and burnt and almost sad in their own right. Firedawn's ears would be folded back against her head as she took on every new feature and her walk would only pause when she came upon the large sycamore tree that had been directly hit by the lightning during the storm.

A heavy sigh would leave her as tears stung her eyes as she gazed upon it. She would silently apologize to it, for what reason she didn't know. But the warrior would soon venture closer to the towering figure to take a better look at the devastation that the fire had left behind. Her nose would twitch lightly as the scent of burning still lingered in the air, but she would tilt her head as she noticed something peculiar about the now charred tree.

With her closer look and as she silently weaved around the trunk and foliage that survived around it, Firedawn would blink as an idea popped into her mind. Perhaps something good could come out of all of this after all! It was a small comfort, but something she hoped that Pitchstar and the others would enjoy. Turning quickly and racing back towards camp, Firedawn felt a new sense of purpose in her heart, her emerald eyes glittering with hesitant but new hope.

Once she slipped into camp she looked around to try and spot their new leader. An NPC would notice her and walk over to ask her what had gotten her all worked up. She would turn to them and meow warmly, "I have an idea to make use of some of our hardships! The sycamore that was struck by lightning, the area around it is perfect for training apprentices now!"

Tagging for good measure but feel free to post before them!

  • Betonyfrost's ears twitch, confused, and then her head tilts Firedawn's way. She cannot imagine how that old sycamore had looked in life-- it had been wholly unremarkable up until the point when it had burned. Now, Betonyfrost can imagine it easily, fire-blackened bark and the lingering scent of smoke. She thinks she can understand Firedawn's thought process, an area fire cleansed where one could train unhindered, but Betonyfrost cannot understand her excitement in it.

She shifts bodily now to watch Firedawn, curious to see what else she will say.

Flickerfire looks up from her paltry meal, a frog more slimy flesh than satisfying meat and bone, and glares at Firedawn's exuberance. A training ground? "Good luck gettin' me back over there," she grumbles. The burning light from the fire still flashes behind her eyelids when she closes them, and she can still feel that singing heat and taste the tang of smoke in her dreams. "Or Hailpaw, for that matter. No thanks. We'd rather go train by the Th--" She stops herself, realizing what she's about to say, and decides instead to say nothing. She crunches a bit of her frog instead, expression dour.

there is a bit of curiosity that rings in their mind, and chilledgaze finds themself daydreaming of the possibilities. wow... what an idea that would be. it was cleared by the fire, which made it much more easy to train their apprentice in open spaces. still... it seems a little out there. what did they need to train in open space when the trees had been kind enough to give their shade?maybe the apprentices would benefit from both. if pitchstar approved the idea, then chilledgaze would take their own apprentices out there. ugh. apprentices. plural. they were exhausted just thinking about it. still, it's a good idea... maybe.

they listen to flickerfire with a snort, moving to grab her wimpy frog, biting into it before pushing it back towards her.

"lets just see what pitchstar has to say."

they advise. its neither here or there. it would be a gain or it simply wouldn't. their apprentices would not be trained any less within the field around the burnt tree. and its unlikely they'd be trained more with it, either.

I've no time for confession
"Nice one," Wolverinefang mutters sarcastic and low through his teeth at Flickerfire before doing a sort of awkward half grin and clearing his throat in the same instance. Kits and apprentices are kind of annoying so having them train away from the central camp sounds like a good idea to him. Kind of morbid for the location, but that doesn't bother him that much. So the tom definitely wants to agree but then there comes that pesky realization that he's going to be talking to a female and those are quite scary for the wannabe casanova. So he speaks kind of looking out toward the burned forest and though it makes him melancholy, it's better than being too awkward right now. "Uh yeah, sounds good to me. Might as well make some sort of use out of it."

Sitting beside her mentor eating a lizard of her own, she’d watch as the warriors talked about the new training area. Ears would flicker as she listened, wondering why they had to have one spot for training. Why not train anywhere? “Why should we have to train in the same spot?” Inquiring with a bored tone, she couldn’t see the appeal in having a singular spot to train in. Weren’t they supposed to learn how to fight anywhere?
