Wyrmwind sat atop a small stone, stoic and still. A light breeze whipped a flurry of crumbling leaves around her, reminding her that leaf-fall was descending on the forest. It meant that she needed to be more focused on SkyClan than before. Daylight warrior she may be, but she wasn't going to let that be an excuse to put in less effort. That was why she was out here, when the earliest rays of dawn were only just beginning to greet the sky.

A mouse or two had passed within her range, but they'd been met with only deliberate ignorance. She wasn't in it for the little prey today. This morning, she wanted something big. Something that could feed more than just one cat. A large bird, perhaps, or a fat rabbit that had escaped from someone's home.

She was vaguely aware that her sibling was probably somewhere around here, but she wasn't paying any major attention to that. As long as it didn't mess up her hunt, she didn't care who tagged along. Her claws flexed against the stone as she caught a whiff of rabbit on the air- something worth going after?

Wyrmwind waited for a few moments longer, hoping the prey would come into view so she could decide if it was worth the effort.

'What a bother.' The tom picked his way along the wooden fences leading away from his twoleg's den, following the scent of his sister. She was way too into this "Clan" stuff...but even he would admit it added some excitement to their day to day life. Besides, leaf-fall was coming. While this was his favorite season, he hoped the cold would convince Wyrm to stay inside more. Dragondance sighed, eyes flitting to follow a leaf that descended past him from a tree. It took all his strength not to leap out and catch it in between his paws but he continued progressing towards the ever-strengthening scent of his littermate. 'Ah, there she is.'

The lilac she-cat perched not far from where he now stood on the ground after jumping down. What was she doing just sitting there? Padding silently up so as not to disturb her, Dragondance quietly took a seat next to Wyrmwind with his tail wrapped neatly around his paws. "What are we waiting for?" He whispered to her, clearly not as attune of a hunter, as he had yet to pick up on the smell of rabbit. Well, or at least he didn't care to. He scratched quietly at the black collar still fastened tightly around his neck. He'd gotten rid of the bell, per making it easier to hunt for SkyClan, but he actually quite liked his accessory, unlike his sister. "Are you hungry? Why not eat a home?"

Dragondance firmly supported his sister in anything she did, including this...Clan life...but he still didn't fully understand why she liked it so much. Not that he would say that to her, nor any cat else in SkyClan. He wouldn't jeopardize her place in the Clan like that. Nor his own- who would watch over her then?

Wyrmwind bit back a sigh as Dragondance joined her and inquired about what she was doing. Surely by now he ought to be used to how things worked. He was a SkyClan warrior, too, even if he didn't act much like it sometimes. The lesser care her brother showed for the life of a warrior always mystified her; didn't he want to serve a higher purpose in life? Still, he was her brother, so even if he did grate on her nerves she wasn't going to send him away. For now, at least.

"I'm hunting," she whispered back, tone terse. "Don't you remember what we learned when we joined SkyClan? We feed the Clan first, then ourselves. At least, that's what we do during the day, when we're supposed to be warriors and not kittypets." Emphasis on "supposed".

A flash of movement had her re-focusing her attention on her goal. The rabbit had come into view. It certainly wasn't the largest rabbit she'd ever seen; it was definitely wild, unlike the large, at times overly-plump rabbits some of the Twolegs owned. Still, it was good-sized, enough to feed a couple of cats in the Clan. Rabbits weren't SkyClan's specialty, but that didn't mean a SkyClan warrior couldn't try.

Plus, she had Dragondance to help her... well, maybe.

"I'm going to go downwind of that rabbit. On my signal, chase it toward me," she whispered.

Slinking off the rock so as not to alert the rabbit, Wyrmwind crept downwind of it and settled in a spot amongst some tall grass, mostly masking her presence. She unsheathed her claws, ready to spring into action as soon as the rabbit approached her. Glancing up at her brother, she signaled to him with her tail.

Dragondance didn't even bat an eyelash at his sister's less-than-friendly tone. He knew it mostly stemmed from wanting to prove herself to SkyClan. It must surely annoy her to know his heart wasn't nearly as into it as hers was. Still, he would still try. "Hmm." He hummed in response, eyes focusing on the undergrowth where Wyrmwind was looking.

Like Wyrmwind, his attention was drawn to a flicker of moment- one so quick he would have missed it if he wasn't already following his sister's gaze. His whiskers twitched at the sight of it. 'What a scrawny little thing.' The rabbits the neighboring twoleg den had contained rabbits way plumper than this. He didn't understand why Wyrm seemed to follow the code so closely. Sure, they could help feed the Clan, but they had a bowl full of food they didn't have to work for at home. Regardless, the brown tom said nothing as his sister begin to stalk towards her future catch and whispered instructions to him, instead choosing to do as she said and crouch down, reading himself for her signal.

He flicked his ear to let her know he was ready and soon her tail twitched in response. Quick as a flash, the havana brown darted towards the rabbit. The small creature immediately began haring towards Wyrmwind, panicked at the sight of a predator. It tried to veer left, but he quickly cut off it's escape route, jumping in front of it with a hiss before it pivoted back around and ran straight for Wyrmwind. "Wyrm! Incoming!"

Fortunately, Dragondance got this one right. Wyrmwind couldn't even begin to think how frustrated she would be if he wasted an opportunity to catch a great piece of prey for the Clan. Leaf-fall was in full swing, which meant that no prey could be wasted, no matter how much effort it required to catch.

As the rabbit shot in her direction, Wyrmwind sprang out, claws extended. She knew she was lucky to belong to Twolegs who didn't believe in declawing (or putting those stupid colorful fake claws on); otherwise, being a part of SkyClan would be impossible. She couldn't imagine herself as anything but a daylight warrior.

The rabbit tried to change direction again as it saw Wyrmwind heading straight for it, but it was too late. Sharp claws pierced its sides, holding it still while Wyrmwind delivered the killing bite. Triumphant, she turned her head to look at Dragondance, the bunny hanging from her mouth like a trophy.
