SHADESTONE x REEDFLOWER (NPC)

Reedflower and Shadestone met after the creation of RiverClan, Shadestone being a loner who had resided in the riverlands since birth and Reedflower following Cicadastar, though her life before the clans' inception is hazy. Their courtship was odd and unconventional, with Shadestone being more reserved and skittish around Reedflower and her elaborate ploys for his attention. A blind man, both physically and emotionally, Shadestone did not know how to respond to her until she outright asked him to be her mate, and then everything started to make sense.
The two (well... Reedflower) knew right away that the wanted to be parents, though seasons came and went without so much as a kick. It was a harrowing experience for Reedflower, but right as the pair (well, Shadestone) was ready to take a break and think about growing their family at another time, Reedflower announced that she was pregnant. She called for a large litter, and to Shadestone's surprise, a large litter they got! Five kits to be exact, all tabby pointed like their parents.
Reedflower happily took on the responsibility of primary caregiver while Shadestone fell back, unsure of what to do or how to approach her or the kits. Reedflower paid this no mind, instead doting and hovering on her precious (and blind) little Nettlekit, her own spitting image. However, when Reedflower succumbed to yellow-cough very shortly before their kits were apprenticed, Shadestone was suddenly thrust into the role of double parent. Shocked by his mate's death and the burden of responsibility, Shadestone pulled away even more, believing that it was a queen's job to care for kits, and a mentor's job to train them afterwards. Now, Nettlepaw and his siblings find themselves estranged from their father while being right next to him, and the tension only grows with every mis-step between them all...

— This plot will be a "tummy-ache" plot - it's supposed to make you feel a little upset in your tummy while you roleplay or read! While the majority of the plot will not be revealed to the public right now, please note that there will be themes of child neglect, distant parents, dealing with the death of a parent, grief, loss, and familial abandonment. BIG TRIGGER WARNING FOR CHILD NEGLECT AND PARENTAL DEATH. While certain aspects of this plot can be changed and adjusted for comfort, please note that these themes will not be changed for the sake of the plot. You may DM me for details if you have any concerns about certain aspects.
— Kits must stay semi-active at least for the first year. Post counts aren't super important to me, but a few plot-beats will need to be met at certain times and the player must be able to complete these plot-beats within a reasonable amount of time (player will be notified ahead of time.)
— Kits will have to remain in RiverClan until the first leg of the plot is completed (more information of the plot will be given once kits are selected.)
— A family group chat will be set up for maximum collaboration. This is meant to be a super collaborative plot so you'll have be at least semi-active with the group!
