ABOUT
Lightning and Brook were raised in a colony a good ways off from the clans’ current territory, in rolling meadows full of wildflowers and plentiful prey. However, not all was happy in their home, as nearby there lived a war-mongering group of rogues who sought power and territory. They would crush any who opposed them, and the colony on the meadow wasn’t one to fight back. They came to an agreement with the rogues: they would continue to raise kits and give them to the rogues to strengthen their ranks in exchange for peace and freedom. Shortly before Lightning and Brook were set to be handed over to the vicious colony, a kindly elder in their clowder made them aware of their fate and urged them to run. The pair of siblings escaped, eventually ending up with Rain as he raised and trained them within his colony which settled in the pines. After the Great Battle that split the groups into clans, they opted to go to RiverClan to escape the memories of the pine forest, reluctantly following their savior’s killer.
Shortly after RiverClan’s settling, the pair’s mother, Grace, successfully tracked down Brook. With honey-sweet words, she urges Brook to return home to her, and the she-cat is quick to try and reject her before she learns vital information: they have younger siblings now. Determined to ensure that her newly-discovered kin don’t face the same fate that Lightning and her nearly had, she agrees to return home with her mom and lies that her brother is dead for his own protection. She leaves Lightning a sign in his nest - a flower that grew abundantly in their homeland - before leaving the clan without a word.
While she’s home, the colony attempts to coerce her into aligning with their way of thinking. She plays along, but her mind is instead focused on getting her little siblings alone. When they do meet, it’s in brief passing or in crowded spaces; she’s never allowed to be alone with them. The night approaches when they themselves are scheduled to be sent off to the vicious rogues, having been deemed old enough to begin training, and Brook is finally able to sneak off to meet with them. At first, these children are confused by what their new older sister tells them, but at her urging they agree to follow her. The small group sneaks off and finds their way back to RiverClan, a place where these siblings will get to grow up safely.
PLEASE NOTE: These characters were not neglected or abused growing up. They were simply being raised under a ruse of being valued and loved, never knowing they were destined to be traded away to a group of blood-thirsty strangers.

- This is not first-come first-serve! We will select three applicants if we receive more than three. Closing date is Sep. 25th! Form is free-for-all, include as much information as you'd like! EDIT: we have decided to only go with one sibling!
- This litter will be introduced at 6 moons. The aging rate will be up to the roleplayers, but they must age together throughout their lives!
- This litter will follow realistic genetics, which can be found below.
- Only natural names will be permitted, as these cats are loner-born. Upon joining the clan they will take apprentice names ending in -paw.
- Ava and I reserve the right to rehome any slots that fall inactive. However, we really want to have the same roleplayers play these characters throughout their entire lives, so please only apply if you are positive you can remain active with them! If for any reason you need to drop the slot or need to let us know of planned inactivity, please let Ava and I know.
- Birth defects and disabilities are allowed if played respectfully. The only genetic mutations allowed are those listed in the genetics.
- These characters must stay in RiverClan until warriorhood. Of course, sometimes plot stuff happens that is out of your control, but please don’t have them decide to up and leave for no reason!
- As these characters aren’t orphaned and will never be in the nursery, please avoid having them be adopted by any other members of the clan! Lightning and Brook will be their family and may even take on parental roles to their younger siblings.
- We will be selecting applications based on the content of the application, whether the roleplayer is consistently active with their other characters, and whether the roleplayer is already in RiverClan or not!

- Kits can have no white or low white
- Kits without white can have any realistic eye color besides blue; kits with white can have any realistic eye color
- Kits can have normal ears, curled ears, folded ears, or folded-back ears (combination of curled and folded gene)
- Kits with folded ears are prone to joint issues and arthritis; kits with curled ears will have more rigid ears that are more prone to damage; kits with folded-back ears will struggle with both issues
- Tabby kits will carry solid; silver kits will carry non-silver; kits with folded or curled ears will carry normal ears
