SORRELSONG

♥ ♥ ♥ ♡ ♡

Though they were no longer mentor and mentee, Sorrelsong never really stopped feeling like she and Flora were learning from each other. When Sorrel taught Flora to hunt, Flora taught Sorrel to be more relaxed. When she taught the maine coon to jump and land, the melodic molly taught her to uncurl her spine that Sorrelsong had bent into an apology. Though she knew it wasn't needed, Sorrelsong would join the molly on her walks back to her two-leg's nest simply... she supposed to hang out. Chat. It was becoming a more common feeling for the molly, who usually hid behind pleasantries like shields.
"And then- And then! Then the Thunder Clanner took a swim! " Paw fall and chatter hearkened the mollys path through the woods. The chill in the air promised leaf-fall soon, but not now.
A giggle bounced out of the chocolate point, her nose scrunched in joy as she recited a story learned from an elder. She lacked the confidence to recite her own stories, finding funny endings a bit... evasive, but she enjoyed the lightness of the conversations they sparked. And they helped to soften the air, helped her find confidence for something else. A question. Perhaps she was getting the hang of talking to others - or perhaps she had just learned how to hid behind a different shield.
"But -uh - Do you... I dunno, like anyone?" Her voice catches a bit. Jealousy, worry, hope is all flashed in her tone, but not for her heart - for Kite's. Once, Sorrel had felt something she though was love towards Flora - she still did - but she learned that it's name was familial love, not romantic. Kite, however, had confirmed that their feelings towards Sorrel's not-blood sister (She hoped Flora would be alright with Sorrelsong calling her that, as that is how she saw the molly) were romantic. Kite seemed a good cat. Strong. Kind. Thoughtful. Everything a good warrior should be - everything Florabreeze deserved. Sorrelsong simply wanted - well she wasn't sure. To make sure Florabreeze evaded heartache again? To make sure they would be a good fit? That Flora even liked them?
All Sorrelsong knew is that she wanted the best for her sister. Something she wanted to do with a tongue she'd though sharper then the sentence that came out - but oh well! Perhaps subtlety is something Flora could teach her later.

Reactions: Florabreeze

Sorrelsong's company is always welcomed, there is always a part of the she-cat that will rely on her. Their origins being one of a mentor and shadow, the foundation of trust inherently laid out before them. So she doesn't mind that the older she-cat walks alongside her towards her home in twolegplace. There is always a level of disconnect Florabreeze likes to have with her clanmates but there is a select few who cross that threshold, Sorrelsong is part of that select few. The sun sets behind them, bathing them both in a blinding red light, softened with shades of pinks and oranges. "No way! I bet they looked ridiculous" there is a barking laugh that comes from her in response. Wherever the story is true or not is lost on the lead warrior but she appreciates the gossip and rumours that she is fed regardless. No matter what this makes the story interesting, trying to imagine such a prideful and well... spiteful clan in such a state.

She found an appreciation for all of her friends stories, passing down from elders to Sorrelsong. She often wishes to seek out the elders den because of it, whenever she can't though she knows that she will find a respite and fountain of information from the older she-cat in her stead. The conversation dips into a comfortable silence, Florabreeze none the wiser that her friend is trying to work up the courage to ask her a question until she actually does. "Do I like anyone?" She parrots back with a confused tone.

Sorrelsong hadn't expressed interest in her like that before, she had no reason to think that any feelings that she personally had harbored moons back would be met. Times are different now, Florabreeze has found her heart moved from anything romantic with the cat beside her. Now there's a familial bond, something she has found to cherish. "I do, actually" she confesses with a warm smile, tilting her head at the point in trying to discern just what her intentions were. "You can't say anything, I really don't want to mess this up" she grimaces at the thought, it felt like that's all she does. She had given herself that time to grieve with Honeysplash, time to understand that her heart wants more and time to accept it. Yet she fears judgement, concern that her friend may agree that she does seem to mess up in regards to love a lot.

SORRELSONG

♥ ♥ ♥ ♡ ♡

Lips quirk upwards, eyes alight with childish glee. "I do, actually." Her tongue set into motion, the only thing holding back the next words were her jaw, which she had to tense suddenly. Is it Kite? Since their talk, some part of the chocolate molly had been awoken from a slumber. The same part of her that she wanted to bury and hide from the clan, the same part of her that was horrendous and ugly and all the things she wanted not to be. Her enjoyment of gossip.
Her chest buzzed with excitement, but her head kept her steady. This Isn't just gossip - this was someone's feelings. Two cats feelings, actually. One whom she wanted to protect at all costs. The other whom she found herself intrigued by.
Florabreeze was someone who was, in short, wonderful. Kind, thoughtful, funny, wonderfully warm and caring. She would make a wonderful partner to whomever she settled with - the problem was that no one had been able to match Florabreeze. For one reason or another, tragedy always seemed to find the lead warrior. Perhaps ease of relationships was something that came with age? Duskpool and Palemoon, Orangestar and Slatesnarl, Johnnyflame and Silversmoke. They all seemed perfectly fine. No broken relationships in their wake, no heart ache they tried to hide. Or maybe they did, and they just hid it better? The thought saddened her. Was it possible that Florabreeze would not have respite form her heartache?
"You won't mess this up," She purrs, moving to brush against the larger molly's side reassuringly. "You never do, it's just life stuff that happens, ya know?" Sorrelsong felt exposed, taking in such an informal manner but she spoke from the heart. "I think, uhm, well, whenever you're ready, I know a cat that... well, don't tell them I told you, but they seem a fine cat. So, I dunno." What was she trying to convey? Two wolves wrestled in her as she attmepted to step out from behind her shield. This was an odd situation she had created, one that she was suddenly unsure if she could follow through with, but Florabreeze was worth the uncomfortableness.
"Whenever you're ready, no rush." She landed on, head winning over heart, fear winning over courage. She side stepped her own conversation, instead gesturing to a nearby tree.
"Wanna race?"
