camp SHOW AND TELL ๐ŸŽ€ JOURNEY QUESTIONS

Pink-kit's eyes flew wide open, like, woosh! when suddenly MORE WindClanners had come, and now there were more WindClanners living in their camp! She'd heard about the um, journey, but she kinda thought it was a journey... or that the other cats wouldn't come back. But they did come back, and they were gonna save everyone! And even though Pink-kit got to see lots of new things like ThunderClan territory and ShadowClan territory, they saw beyond all that, which she must admit, is very cool of them. Pink-kit wishes she could've gone. She would bring back lots of new and fun stuff and cool stories.

Sooo... she'll just have to ask someone for cool stories. Pink-kit zeroes in on a pretty tortoiseshell, like her! So that means this cat was very cool ( like her ). Pink-kit would trot up to her, tail waving in the air. " Hi! Um, um... ummm... " Uhh, she doesn't know her name. Well, whatever. " You went on theโ€” on the quest! Right? Did you meet other cats? Or, um, did you see cool stuff? I need to knoooow! Um, everything! " She sits down so the warrior gets the idea that she's gonna stay, and she better tell Pink-kit a story or she was going to get extremely fierce and terrifying!

It's almost agonizing, waiting for the cure to take its full effect. There's a definite relief within him now - a new comfort from knowing that he won't succumb entirely to the yellowcough - but there's also impatience within him. He was desperate for the symptoms to fully fade faster, so he wouldn't have to remain cooped up in camp any longer. His every spare moment was spent helping to clean up the chaos that the rogues had left in their wake, at least when his body allowed him to do so. Unfortunately that still wasn't particularly often, meaning he was forced to spend most of his time curled up in his nest, hoping something exciting would happen at home.

Pink-kit badgering Scorchstreak for tales wasn't exactly thrilling, but it did at least represent a break from the norm. An amusing one too, a pleased little smirk playing on Rattleheart's muzzle as he settled a short distance from both the kit and the subject of her questioning. He didn't offer any words of his own just yet, simply nodding in his sister's direction to indicate that he was listening as well - the tunneler had to admit that he was curious as well. What sorts of things had they all encountered out there?

Being back home is nice, comfortable, but just as the mountainous journey had its irritations, it seems that WindClanโ€™s camp does as well. She suppresses a sigh as she regards Pinkkit, tail lashing once in the only outward display of her annoyance. The childโ€™s boldness is commendable, at least; the tunneler does not know this kit, and does not know whose kit she is, so in turn she is more than certain that the little grayish kit doesnโ€™t know who she is. Despite the unfamiliarity, though, Scorchstreak is willing to entertain Pinkkit.

"Oh, everything?" She must admit that itโ€™s endearing, the way this kit wants to know so much. Sheโ€™ll probably grow bored of listening halfway through, but Scorchstreak can live with that. So she cocks her head to the side, rolling her eyes for dramatic effect. "I couldnโ€™t possibly cover everything. It would take too long." It feels right, it feels comfortable. Telling stories to a kit whose name she doesnโ€™t even know, who she has never seen before. It feels almost like sheโ€™s back in the nursery, curled up with four little scraps of fur against her side, entertaining them until they dozed off again. The calico finds herself smiling lightly; for a cat who has been told she rarely smiles, she has certainly noticed herself doing it a lot more as of late. Strange.

She shifts into a more comfortable position, wrapping her fluffy tail around herself. Her gaze flicks to Rattleheart momentarily, wondering whether her sibling also wants to hear about the trials they had gone through on their travels across the land. "What part do you want to hear about more? The part with the huge, towering cliff, or with the huge, dangerous dogs?" It feels a bit insensitive, dramatizing the horrors that they had all faced, but it seems harmless enough to tell the child. Perhaps telling her of such dangers will frighten her away from doing typical troublesome kit activities such as sneaking out of camp.

Reactions: PINKSHINE

It was fascinating and terrifying, the reality that they lived in- but for once, Featherkit looked upon scathed cats and did not seethe with fear or anger. In fact, it was affirming... if you were strong enough, brave enough, prepared enough- if you were enough, you could do the impossible.

So- another for once- Featherkit and Pink-kit had intersecting goals. To hear about this impossible journey, to talk to the cats who had braved it. Her parents were wonderful storytellers- she wished their silver tongues would be able to sing this song for her, but instead she would have to settle for Scorchstreak, who was blunt but trusted and knowledgeable. She seemed to settle comfortably into the role of storyteller, and as Featherkit heard the tale of dangerous dogs, she felt a pang of worry streak through her chest, to her great chagrin. He frowned, deeply. "Dogs." It came out as quite the freezing-cold demand, thrown like an icicle-javelin right at Scorchstreak's face.

Stories are irresistible to everyone apparently, even warriors! She looks excitedly up at the warrior, tail swishing back and forth. When she says, oh, everything? Pink-kit feels the need to agree as aggressively as she possibly can, nodding her head furiously as she reitterates " Everyyyytthiing! " I couldnโ€™t possibly cover everything. It would take too long. Pink-kit is huffing and puffing almost immediately, contemplating if she out to cry or attack her tail in response to this devastating news. She thinks this must mean she's out of luck...

But no, the warrior is settling too, and Pink-kit perks at once. What part do you want to hear about more? The part with the huge, towering cliff, or with the huge, dangerous dogs?" The action! The drama! Pink-kit lets out the loudest squeal ever because both options were just too good and depth defying and terrifying and amazing and wild and fun! SO much so that even Featherkit has to butt in. Too utterly gobsmacked by the amazingness offered up to her, she nods furiously in agreement with Featherkit, words being simply too hard for her right now.

Dogs.

Scorchpaw settles in at her mother's side, wordless as she does. Her ears ring with the brays of Hell behind her, and though her smile is soft, it could not be mistaken for happy. There's a fear in it, even at just the mention of the hounds; though Scorchpaw cannot be sure if she was afraid of the dogs themselves still, or her feelings during the chase. She'd been flying over those scrublandsโ€“ flying with damnation at her heels, and they'd caught her, or they'd nearly caught her, the scar on her face evidence of the bite. Forty-two little white knives. She can still see them now when she closes her eyes, the way they'd closed around her, the way they'd cut her and she'd had to run blind until they'd given up. How had Scorchstreak survived? Luckypaw? She isn't sure, but thank StarClan she had not lost themโ€“ she isn't sure she could've returned alone.

One kitten wants to hear about these dogs. The other wants to hear about everything possible. Scorchpaw chuckles wryly; she couldn't tell these stories if she tried, she doesn't think, so she will leave it to her mother. Shoulder pressed to the tunneler's side, she offers her own suggestion: "I think you should talk about the dogs."

Dual-toned gaze flashes with indistinct emotion. She wants to hear about her own bravery; wants to feel the thrill of Death closing in. It had made her feel the most like a WindClanner that she'd ever felt.
