Graystripe purrs to himself, happy that he's finally home from hunting. Wow, it's been a long day! The patrol that Thornclaw sent him on was a wild time, and they sure didn't catch much.
They'd passed a fish-stinking RiverClan patrol but luckily nothing had broken out... still on friendly terms, which was good considering the skirmishes that had taken eyes and lives of late.
(Secretly Graystripe didn't mind the RiverClan scent so much.... and he's possibly harboring another, secret reason for his relief over the peace between the two clans. She doesn't smell dreadful, after all. And he'd hardly be able to hurt her in any border skirmish. Oh, his beautiful Silverstream.)
He maintains a look of cheer despite the empty fresh-kill pile (man, it's been too long since he's had a good juicy mouse) and turns to a clanmate. His best friend, Fireheart, is nowhere in sight — so he'll have to make conversation with someone else for now! "How's your day going, friend?"
